I was fortunate enough to meet the awesome staff members. They are so knowledgeable and provide great service. Store hosts tournaments as well. Great to have a store like this in Durban.

The Big Bang Shop is one of a kind, my home away from home. I'm literally there every single Saturday. This is not just any kind of collectibles shop. Everyone is welcome and made to feel welcome. A true family dynamic, beautifully curated by Zane and his friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable staff. Do your self a favour and visit this gem of a shop, trust me, you won't be sorry.

I started playing Magic: The Gathering at Big Bang Store at the beginning of this year, and it has been such an amazing experience. From day one, the staff have been incredibly welcoming, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what they do. The store itself is well-organized, comfortable, and has such a great atmosphere for both new and experienced players. Whether you’re just getting into MTG or you’ve been playing for years, they make you feel like part of the community. The team is always helpful, patient, and willing to go the extra mile — whether it’s explaining rules, helping with deck ideas, or just creating a fun environment for everyone. Highly recommend Big Bang Store to anyone looking for a great place to play and connect with fellow Magic players. Truly a 5-star experience!

Placed an order on Friday afternoon and it arrived in Jozi on Monday morning, carefully packed. I found the largest array of Citadel paints on their website and at excellent prices. Thanks guys!

This is probably the best trading card store in KZN as at 14 February 2024. The owner has taken the time to focus on marketing the store well and really cares about the community and players. The treatment of players and the look and feel of the store is unique to the Durban scene as it is very aesthetic and captures the feel one would expect from a hobby store like this. The store is always impressively clean. The use of an air purifier/diffuser makes the store always smell really good and their air conditioning is always on so you don't feel the troubles of Durban heat while in the store. They have very interesting comic book and anime memorabilia displayed around the store which is very eye catching. The store assistants are always friendly and willing to help. They are knowledgeable about the different card games are played and if one assistant does not know something, they get one of the store assistants that does know the information to help out. The owner is also very accommodating and supportive of the player bases for all games. He will often throw in extra prize support or buys snacks/food for the players which really makes a player feel like they are welcomed and appreciated by the store. The store is also well stocked. The prices are sometimes higher than what other stores are charging but that's countered by the fact that the store always has stock. Overall the store has done exceptionally at delivering the things the KZN community has been needing from a hobby store. Umhlanga is a bit far out from most of the other areas of Durban but it is worth the drive for tournaments and events. Would definitely recommend people visit this store if they are in Durban.
