Woander

A must-stop place for families and table top game enthusiasts when in Marin! Their Wylding Woods immersive experience is adorable and magical! I love that Woander incorporates the art of puppeteering while supporting the puppetry community in the San Francisco Bay Area.

A transporting and whimsical shop with incredible attention to detail. We loved searching for fairy doors in the book shelves. There were flyers for puppet shows, and you can rent a little backpack full of adventure games to play with kids on nature walks. Excellent gift wrapping. We were charmed.

Woander is unlike anything else in Marin — pure imagination come to life. The store is beautifully curated, and every detail feels intentional, imaginative, and built to inspire wonder (true to their name). We're so lucky to have a place that offers kids the chance to dive into worlds of creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration — where they can come together as dreamers, explorers, and creators. My daughter recently participated in their immersive theater experience, The Wylding Woods, and it was pure enchantment. The storytelling, costumes, and interactive elements drew both kids and adults into a living fairytale. It’s not just something the kids watch — they are active participants in the story, engaging directly with the characters and becoming part of the adventure. Brilliantly done. The facilitators were warm, engaging, and deeply skilled at connecting with kids in ways that were both meaningful and fun. If you’re in the area, it’s an absolute must-visit!

The Woander store is spectacular! From the overall look of the store, down to the tiny details... each piece is beautifully done. It's a wonderful inviting environment for all ages. Even though my kids are older, they still enjoy the magical feeling as you enter—and I've already bought several board games for my husband and I to play. I strongly recommend all to visit whether you live down the street or on vacation.

Awesome local business with a variety of games, puzzles, books, gifts, etc. catering to all ages. They also host a variety of events and experiences, from game nights to puppet shows. Great place to pick up a birthday present, check out the latest board games, or send your kids when you want a date night without them. 🙂
