War Hoard Games

Great hobby and wargaming store. Good selection of product. The fella working there (owner?) was chill, knowledgeable, and helpful without being pushy or hovering. Overheard him talking to a couple that was newer to wargaming and was impressed that he listened to them and made suggestions based on what they were interested in rather than trying to push a sale. Knoxville isn't hurting on places to shop for Warhammer, but I'll definitely be adding War Hoard Games into my rotation of places I shop.

Ollie at War Hoard Games was super helpful - I didn't include pictures of the several tables he has set up as he's still furnishing them, but his setup is perfect for any Warhammer enthusiast. The paint selection is great and he even has other collections available (including Gundam and Halo figures - just to name a few).

Brand new, and easily the best resource in Knoxville for tabletop wargamers and modelers. If you’re interested in Warhammer, Star Wars Legion, Gunpla, etc. or looking for high quality hobby brands like AK Interactive or Monument Hobbies, this is your spot. The owner is welcoming, passionate, and knowledgeable about every product in the store and has been immersed in this space his whole life. It’s where I’d recommend someone interested in picking up the hobby go to learn and play. Beyond the basics, the shop is clean, organized, and has plenty of room to grow. I suspect I’ll be spending a lot of time here in the future!

Knoxville has a preponderance of gaming stores of varying sizes, types, and quality. So I was admittedly skeptical when I heard War Hoard was opening up. However, after visiting today I think it's a wonderful place that serves the needs of miniatures wargamers in the area perfectly. It's the only locally owned store in the area, that I'm aware of, which caters specifically to miniature wargamers. No board games, no MTG, no video games. (Maybe this will change down the line.) You can tell that the owner himself is a passionate wargamer who cares about the community and knows the kind of things it likes and needs. The prices are reasonable. The space is well lit, clean, with plenty of room to move around. The main gaming tables are 8'x4' with plenty of room for a game and your stuff on the sides. They're elevated high enough that your back isn't hurting from stooping over a table for 3 hours. There's a section of the store (equipped with vortex paint mixers!) for building and painting. The selection of products is well curated, and all product the owner is familiar with and excited about. At this stage there is nothing at all to complain about, and I hope to see War Hoard Games succeed and grow! It's a great feeling to have a passionate local gamer achieve the dream of providing a space of our own, and it's on us to help keep that dream alive!

Even though it just opened, it's as lively as any game store you'd want it to be. It's clean, well stocked, with plenty of space for your war games and hobbying. Ran by the most dedicated man I've met who cares for your time and money.
