Visions Cards and Games

Worming out of town... dropped in to play a MTG prerelease. I'd leave 10 stars if I could... the staff and community was top notch and I've played magic for 20+ years from Delaware to alabama! John is the man and if I owned a "card shop" he is 110% the person I want people to see/meet when they first walk in the door. Such a great experience and as somebody that's never stepped foot in the door before, I felt so welcomed and that's what it's all about.

We came in to sell a random MTG card, had an awesome conversation and left with a new appreciation for the game and will be back to watch a battle!

I used to love visions, Friday night magic was my jam in 2012-2014. Unfortunately since my son's first visit, the day after Christmas my love has faded. My son took his Christmas money to buy himself something for his Dungeons and Dragons campaign. He picked out two Dungeon's and Dragons Icons Of The Realms Ghost Light Mystery boxes. Each one is supposed to contain four mini's that are random, as well as each of them being in their own plastic bag. All of the mini figures from both boxes were out of their bags, resealed with shrink plastic. They also took what they wanted from the boxes as there was one plastic mount that had no mini figurine with it. The missing one was the "tree blight" the very one my son was hoping he'd get. So I am sad to say we will never shop at visions again. We will also advise all of our many friends and even strangers at other shops not to shop here anymore. If the owner wants to reach out to me and make this right we may change our minds, but until then never again. Please be advised if you buy mini figures that are "mystery boxes" do not buy them from Visions. They have already opened them took what they wanted out and you won't get what you are paying for.

I stopped by last month on a Wednesday while in town to see if I could pick up a quick game or two of Commander to blow off steam. The clerk said that FNM would be my best bet because the Montgomery MTG community is smaller than my LGS back home. Fortunately 2 customers overheard my conversation and chimed in to say that they would be willing to play. One went out to the car and grabbed a deck the other borrowed one of my decks. We had a very pleasant hour or so and all 3 guys invited me back to play on Friday if I was still in town. Fortunately again, I was and I did stop by on Friday to play. The community was very welcoming. All new set of players (same clerk- sorry I don’t remember his name). The store seemed to be buzzing with Magic players and another game I didn’t recognize as well as a DND campaign in the back. I’m certain I’ll be back the next time I’m in town.

Honestly a great place, the other players are so helpful when it comes to being new to a game. The dungeon masters there are so nice and good at what they do. With the staff, I have never had a problem. A great place for all your nerdy needs.
