Uptown Gaming & Collectibles

I hate to be that guy because I went to the store when they were at their old location and it was great. The new location is even better. I would always go to jays but this is genuinely awesome. Now the reason for 3 stars. 1. The staff is friendly but not great. Normally when you ask for a game in the case they take it back themselves so people dont steal. I asked if they were gonna take it or should I take it upfront and the guy just kinda stood there leaving me confused. 2. I bought a Box tv and absolutely love it. I didn't know if it came with a remote so I asked and the guy seemed annoyed or like I was dumb for asking. 3. Two staff members seemed to be slightly arguing about their breaks pretty loud and talking about the management. Overall I will gladly comeback since the amount of games is top tier and for such amazing prices. To the staff and members reading this I dont mean absolutely no harm nor disrespect. This is my opinion and I hope this helps with understanding how the guests feel.

Finally found what I was looking for. I'd been hunting for a Yu-Gi-Oh! spot in town for weeks, then Uptown's Facebook post stopped me mid-scroll! exactly what I wanted. Reached out, talked to the owner, struck a deal. Walked in and ended up staying for hours, just browsing and shopping. Staff are genuinely kind, store's spotless. Even renegotiated our original deal on the spot, and we still landed on something more than fair for both of us. Great shop, great people. I'll be back.

Owner is Amazing. Always kind and smiling . My son loves going here , super friendly and the best selection of stuff. Amazing prices. I make the drive from Boone over places closer for that reason.

Love the new store, location is great, parking is so much better, it is now handicap accessible, easier to walk through the store, so much more room, which means more items available and I LOVE the retro set up. I played the OG NES mario and it was awesome! If you haven't checked out the new location you need to and if you have never been also come check it out.

Great little shop. The girl working was friendly and polite (I feel like this isn’t always the norm). Pokemon selection of singles was a lot bigger than I expected. Other metro stores don’t seem to have as much available or they price them unfairly. I didn’t trade anything in on my visit this time, but I imagine they’d offer a fair comp since they’re pricing based on TCGplayer. I got some nice art cards for the price and there was a ton of bulk and lower priced dollar EX etc cards available too. Lots of video games available as well. Will be nice when the retail market for pokemon settles down so it’s available here too closer to MSRP (or at all).
