Thunder Comics

I was in Chicago for work this week, running on olives and hotel coffee between bus jobs, and decided my off time needed a good comic hunt. I bounced through a few shops with crazy prices and staff who looked annoyed I existed… then I walked into Thunder Comics. The owner (pretty sure it was the owner) was **actually** happy to see a customer, super friendly, and full of great recommendations. They even had a book I’d been chasing forever: 2025 Absolute Batman #1 NM- MX Panini Logo Foil Variant, 1st appearance of Joker, at a better price than what I’d seen on eBay. Awesome back issues, fair prices, and a vibe that makes you want to hang out and dig through bins until your parking meter cries. Next time I’m in Chicago, Thunder Comics is my first stop—and I’m telling all my friends and family to go there. Sources

Awesome store, went there for Marvel Pre-release MTG. It was run smoothly and the vibes for immaculate!

Thunder Comics is a great comic book store! The staff are very friendly and they offer a great subscription service so I never miss an issue and I even get a discount! They are really working to build a community and host weekly gaming events. If there's something you want that they don't regularly carry, they'll be happy to order it for you. I highly recommend these guys!

Great comic shop! Drove in from out of town for the C2E2 and this vendor not only had Tix, they didn't have a limit, which other shops did. Super grateful for that. They've also got a fantastic selection of items. Totally worth the visit!

Pretty cool store, they are very helpful. The only thing that irked me was I had called ahead asking when they open, they told me Tuesday, so I drove in and they were closed for Inventory. Not sure if it was a surprise inventory or what, but since I am so far wish they had told me that on the phone. Anyways would come back, they have some cool stuff.
