The Hero's Edge Collectibles

Pretty neat little eclectic shop. Decent variety of games and the shop person is very knowledgeable. Cash only limited my shopping, but I'll be better prepared next time.

I came in about 30 minutes after open, I had worked a late shift last night and slept in. Due to my poor planning I was unable to get the product I wanted and was visibly pretty bummed. Through no fault of the store but the owner was super empathetic and was kind enough to sell me a booster box that he had set aside for himself. I felt embarrassed for my immaturity but the owner assured me he was doing it to help someone who loves the community. He made my week and I can’t praise Blake and “shoes” enough. best shop in McHenry city hands down

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The H.E. Collecties is hands down one of the best card shops around! Whether you're buying, selling, or trading, they always offer fair prices and treat everyone with honesty and respect. The customer service is outstanding—the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. They have a great selection, a welcoming atmosphere, and it's become my go-to shop for sports cards and collectibles. I highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a trustworthy local card store. Keep up the great work!

I can't believe it has taken me this long to leave a positive review of my absolute favorite card shop. It may be a lil tucked in there, but thats just a part of downtown McHenry charm. Blake and Jeremy are knowledgeable, kind, and trustworthy shop owners. I've been coming to this shop for about a decade now on and off, and I could not recommend it more to anyone looking to get into a new board game, expand a trading card collection, or if you're looking to spice up your D&D campaign. The Hero's Edge Collectibles has a bit of everything for everyone with great prices and high-quality service. 11/10 would recommend

Fantastic store! I’ve recently begun making the trek to check out Hero’s Edge and, despite a longer drive and a desire for rarer/reserved list cards, have never left disappointed even when I fail to find what I initially came for. I hate to compare one small business to others but as someone whose frequented just about every similar venue in the region I can say Hero’s Edge has rocketed to the top of my list of places to shop. The staff are all extremely helpful and the selection of both MTG singles and sealed product is top notch. Admittedly a wait may be required if you happen to walk in while they are assisting someone check on a lengthy list of cards but that’s a small price to pay for the breadth of options available when your turn comes. In short? Without more rambling I can say 10/10, 5 stars, and two thumbs up - will always check with them first going forward.
