The Game Preserve - Fashion Mall Commons

Usually a good experience. Tall bald caucasian dude with red beard was rude as heck. The store was completely empty save me. I was buying a $40 card and had some others (less than 7) I was looking for. There were different versions of the $40 card they had in the store that I looked at. After I asked about a 2rd card the guy asked impatiently, "How many ya got?" A reasonable question. Thinking he meant how many more I said three. Then asked about another card they had and then one they didn't this is when he decides to hold me accountable, "You said you had three." Are you kidding me? Go take a yoga class or walk outside and unwind. How are you that intolerant with no one in the store, shelved looking stocked, floor looking clean. Chill... Not sure what's in the atmosphere at this store but the whole experience put me off and I've been shopping at Game Preserve for 16 years. I'll still shop here, but be kind and understanding. Feeling impatient? Set a real limit in a kind manner, "We've done 5 cards, we usually request a list and some time for anything over 10. Is that alright?" Something other than, "You said three." Almost walked out of the store. What a sucker I am for making the purchase with that guy...

Awesome selection of everything from board games to card games, Magic the Gathering preconstructed decks, singles, and booster packs. They also have a ton of war games as well, mostly Star Wars Legion, Battletech, and Warhammer. The play space is nice as well, with terrain and battlemats available for use. Great staff, friendly and helpful!

I'm reviewing specifically for buying MTG cards here. I have been frequenting stores in the area and there is just no reason to buy here. First - all play booster packs start at $6.95, even for sets that are $4.99 at other stores in town. Second - they have a library of cards and let you write down requests. The problem is the "all rares start at $1" policy. So if the rare card is 30 cents, they will charge you a dollar. Other stores that pull cards for you don't do this! Overall, don't buy packs or budget singles here. Maybe come here to buy cards that are over a dollar. The store is very clean and well decorated, and they have a good selection of minis, DnD stuff, and board games.

I love this game store. They have a huge selection of board games, tabletop, rpg, and cards. The variety is good for all ages. There is dedicated space for tabletop players. They offer some good suggestions too.

This may be my new favorite board game store in town. It was clean with a huge, wonderful, selection of games. The staff was helpful and not pushy and even help direct me away from a game that may have not been a good fit for my group. Their recommendations have been spot on and we will be back again and again!
