The Casual Nerd

Went to this place as it was recommended by a friend. When I walked in I was greeted and asked what I was looking for. I told the worker behind the counter that I was looking to get some full art lands for a new deck I was building. I asked if they had any lands I could look through and he just stated “we don’t have that” without any further elaboration. He then went on to help another customer. I saw that there were bulk bins and figured I could start there to look for what I wanted. After finding a few cards I asked how they price bulk and he said “I scan them and then you pay that.” So be aware that you will pay TCG mid pricing to sort and pull from bulk for them. After I had pulled a few cards I wanted I brought them up and handed them to the worker. He took them without saying anything, scanned them without saying anything, and then just typed in a price to the Square without saying anything and waited for me to pay. No words were exchanged during check out and I got the sense like I was inconveniencing them by shopping there. The other customers seemed to be having a great time but I felt unwelcome. Other than my own experience, the selection of product was a little slim and the store was kind of small. I really wanted to like this place but the 20 ish minutes I was there felt like they didn’t want my patronage.

Cool store. Nice guys working there. Mix of magic the gathering and mostly trading card stuff. Would love to see more inventory and gaming space but they work well with the location they have, which is easy to access. Its a bit far to be my lgs but ill definitely be back.

Seriously can't say enough good things about this shop, the owners, staff, and the mtg community that it hosts. The staff is very knowledgeable, supportive and welcoming to players of all levels and Sam has always been super helpful and kind to me and my friends. The time I spend there is one of my absolute favorites and I am always looking forward to the next time I can pop in and play!

I’m thrilled to have stumbled upon The Casual Nerd, my new go-to Local Game Shop (LGS) in the area! As a newcomer, I was warmly welcomed by the incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff. They patiently answered all my Magic: The Gathering questions, helping me navigate the world of MTG with ease. The store boasts an impressive inventory, with a vast selection of cards, accessories, and merchandise. But what truly sets The Casual Nerd apart is the dedicated space for casual and scheduled games. The atmosphere is inviting, perfect for meeting fellow gamers and making new friends. The staff's passion for gaming is contagious, and their dedication to creating a inclusive community is evident. I've found my LGS, and I couldn't be happier! If you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, The Casual Nerd is a must-visit destination. Thank you, The Casual Nerd team, for an exceptional gaming experience. I'll be back!
