Too dark to see well. Staff kind of arrogant and rude. Staff not very good at determining card condition when pricing cards, causing the price to be one condition category higher. Not bad, but not great. Was in the town visiting family, honestly not sure i would ever come back. They had a few nice cards, but most were okay. The staff didnt ask how i could be helped, but just assumed i wanted to dig through some binder behind the counter. Wanted to ask for a list of several cards im willing to pay good for, but didnt feel like it was worth spending my $10,000 budget i came in with. Hope things improve or that my experience wasnt the norm.

Great store with a strong focus on Magic: The Gathering. While their Pokémon selection is smaller, they still had an impressive variety of cards, including several top chase cards. The store was organized, the staff was friendly, and I’ll definitely be back.

The card shop was good when they first opened they’d give fair prices offer to buy cards at a decent % and not be cheap rats. There’s no respect, Ben and the owner are rude try to be cheap on every card come in with a $20 card they offer you high % come in with a card worth $100-300 they offer you %60 but when I first went in they offered “higher % on higher value cards depending on the market” they’re cheap they’ll low ball you and be rude and inattentive when you do last time selling cards or buying from this shop it’s a joke now and the owners don’t care about collectors they just want to make the most money offf you while claiming to be a good card shop it’s terrible now % based off lowest numbers cheapest offers on buying your card and selling every card as “gem mint” conditions full 100% of market cap when they won’t grade for a 10 terrible shop, owner, employees not going back.

Yesterday I went to the new Card Wizards location for Spider-Man Prerelease and ended up staying there for 12 hours… and I’d do it again! This location is miles ahead of their previous location. It’s got lots of space for people to play and hang out without having to squeeze by each other. The parking lot is much nicer and bigger. The AC actually functions and keeps the place nice and cool. The tables are nice, and the chairs are comfortable. I sat in those chairs all day and my 40 year old bones aren’t screaming at me this morning. They’ve decided that having a clean space that’s decorated with framed magic posters and well lit by the many can lights is better than having a dark and musty dungeon card shop… and I agree. The atmosphere of Card Wizards is inviting and friendly. AJ and Ben were greeting customers, answering questions and always available to help. Many people came in just to check out the new location and were easily able to find a commander pod to join or just grab a few packs to crack. By the evening there were 4 or 5 commander pods in full swing and everyone was having a great time. The prerelease event itself ran smoothly. Ben gave clear instructions and kept things moving. Prize support was great and let everyone walk away with something. I highly recommend Card Wizards to anyone that’s looking for a fun and welcoming place to play. They are really elevating the Joplin Magic scene and the community will be better for it.
