Sword and Board Games

Incredibly friendly staff and inviting space! Capitola Mall is lucky to have such a cool and welcoming staple in there, hope to visit again in the future ty

New to Pokemon. My kids got into it and I’m a live for my kids parent. I love it too now because of the community. Every employee at Sword and Board and nearby Game Vault truly love card games. The community they have built is filled with some of the best people I’ve run into in life. They all sort of help each other. The caring shines through. I guess what I’m saying is there are worse ways to spend your time. Five stars. Solid folks.

Great selection, wonderful staff. They were very helpful with selecting product. I loved that they had an iPad setup with all their magic collection rather than just boxes lying around. I’ve also been wanting to play a board game (Dice Forge) for a while and I was so excited to see the welcoming game area and display games to try. 10/10 :)

My son is on the autism spectrum and has had trouble making friends. This summer we began learning how to play Dungeons and Dragons and the shop has been amazing. It has been overwhelming to watch him interact with other kids and even make friends. A totally new experience. The staff have been so welcoming and patient. It often is the highlight of our week.

This Game store is a Gem, a new era for the capitola mall. They got the books, the the minis, the math rocks, and the space to game. The humans who work there were very knowledgeable. The drip and Rizz from the man behind the counter was an expert experience. Matthew? Jason? Dude in a kilt. He knew his shit. Also the store owner is a giant human with a great smile, and definitely makes the store a *safe place*. You are missing out if you don't visit this little treasure. #games #nerds #queer #lgbtqia
