I visited today, August 1, 2026, for the release of the new One Piece Starter Decks. I understand that supplies are limited and that tournaments fill up. If I had simply arrived too late or missed an earlier registration, I would have accepted that. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Here are the issues I experienced: I was told I could not purchase a starter deck because I wasn't participating in the tournament. However, I watched another player walk into the store, purchase a starter deck, mention that he had to leave, and walk right back out without playing. If that exception could be made for someone else, I don't understand why I was denied the same opportunity. Tournament registration was not handled through the Bandai app. Instead, it was first come, first served. I arrived nearly two hours early specifically to make sure I had a chance to participate, yet I was still denied entry. To make matters worse, another player who wasn't even waiting in line was going to be given a spot because they were friends with the staff. That gave the impression that spots were being saved for certain people rather than being offered fairly. The tournament organizer recognized me, and even another customer waiting in line confirmed that I had been there. Despite that, I was still turned away while exceptions appeared to be made for others. It left me feeling like favoritism mattered more than following the stated rules. As for the store itself, the prices are generally fine. Most products are sold at market price, and it seems like better deals are available if you're a regular who plays in their tournaments. If you're someone like me who stops in occasionally, don't expect much different from other local TCG stores. Overall, my frustration isn't about not getting a starter deck or missing the tournament. It's about inconsistent rules and seeing exceptions made for friends while other customers who followed the stated process were turned away. I don't mind losing out when the rules are applied fairly, but that wasn't the experience I had today.

My boyfriend and I just had the most laughable experience here. We came to look at their singles and after asking a guy named Kevin to double check the price on a card that had LP written on it (lightly played for those who don’t know), he literally changed the price in that instant to over what the sticker said with the reasoning being that the card was “going up”. We asked him to honor the price on the sticker and he flat out said no and had a crappy attitude about it after the fact (didn’t even bother to say bye when we did). We had some other cards picked out but we didn’t buy them and walked out. We’ve been here before a few times since we live further away and have never had an issue before, but now we’re 100% staying away if this weird pricing method is how they’re going to do business. We’ve been to some low end shops as well as nice ones and never once has that happened anywhere else so yeah, we’re good. I’ve seen the passive aggressive responses left on some reviews so I should’ve known better and I fully expect the same response which will just further prove their attitude. Definitely stay away from here and go to Gem Mint, REV, Martz… even Mad Rat has better pricing and that says a LOT. 0/5.

I have had a few disappointing experiences at Sleight of Hand. When I came in with my friend to trade in some Pokemon singles, the store spent what was about 30 minutes inspecting his sealed promos, claiming that the promo pack was lightly played (the cards are sealed???) It felt ridiculous to waste our time so the store could save what was about $2-3 in trade in value. From the few times I've been into the store, who I believe is the owner, also comes off as rude and offstandish. You can definitely see this in his replies to other negative reviews here. I will say that I have had an amazing time chatting with the rest of the staff during some of my other visits. As a TCG player and collector, I definitely don't plan on coming back here. I would recommend checking out other LGS in the area if you are looking to play or trade.

I absolutely love this card shop! My friends and I come here almost every weekend to play Magic it’s become one of our favorite spots to hang out. The atmosphere is always welcoming, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and there’s plenty of space to play comfortably. It’s a great place whether you’re new to the game or have been playing for years. Everyone here is respectful, and it really feels like a community. We’ve had so many fun games and great memories here.

I have been coming here for a while. The staff are inviting and very helpful. The game nights and tournaments are fun. Definitely can find a lot of great deals on products for MTG, Pokemon and there's a variety of others. I also like that they have snacks available and (I like coffee) so the cafe next door is a nice bonus. There are fast food area's nearby too if you find yourself waiting for a pod or a game and want a bite to eat. I recommend checking this shop out.
