Called to ask for their buyout percentages and was told they offer 40% of the LOWEST verified sale for cash for any card. This place is a scam and i wouldn’t recommend buying or selling to a place that will blatantly scam their customers and then go and sell the same card for 100% market value!

I was looking to liquidate my entire collection of Pokemon cards when I decided to no longer buy and sell. I have been to several other local shops in lubbock. I will just say customer service is not their strong suite. Not sure if because I was a girl or if they were just jerks but they treated me like i had no idea what i was talking about or the value of my cards. Then I talked to ian at Sk games. I explained what i was wanting to do and he was more than happy to help. I told him i would be driving from plainview and he said no problem he would make sure that his staff would know I was coming. I went to the store and was very told them i called and Tony came around the counter and said he was told i would be there and asked hwo he could help. Also , that day they happen to be having an event and alot of people were there. I explaind to Tony he said biring your cards in and well get you taken care of So he offered to help carry them. He was great with not making his other customers wait and helping me. He was very knowledgable on cards and prices. He explained how they came up with price he offereed and it was very reasonable and almost 40% more than other shops. I contacted Ian a couple days later and asked if they purchased bulk and he said absolutley. I told him by bulk i meant approx 75-100 trainer boxes of common cards thats over 25,000 cards. He said bring them in. If you are looking for cards in or around lubbock you might have had the same experinece i did with other shops. I have heard this over and over from other people that people want to shop local but the other shops dont make them feel welcomed I promise you wont have this problem with SK games. Tony and Ian are great at anwering questions and explaining your options and I never felt like I was pressured into a sale. Please stop by and you will glad you did.

They were super knowledgeable. I walked in a while back just looking to see if I could find some generic cards to help build a deck not only were they able to point me in the right direction they were able to make excellent recommendations and knew exactly where every card was in the store.

SK Games is a great place overall. The location is convenient, the environment is welcoming, and the people there are genuinely kind and enjoyable to be around. It’s the kind of shop that makes you want to come back and be part of the community. The only drawback I experienced was during a three-month period when I wasn’t working. Most of the tournaments I attended—Yu-Gi-Oh, Gundam, and Union Arena—required an entry fee. While the staff graciously waived my fee and I didn’t receive packs, it was still a bit embarrassing not being able to fully participate due to money. It creates an unintended barrier, even in an otherwise welcoming space. It made me think about younger players, like a 10-year-old kid who may love these games but doesn’t have any money at all. I imagine that could feel discouraging. I think it would be amazing if SK Games offered occasional free-to-play nights or clearly designated free days. That would make the community even more inclusive and give more people the chance to play and connect. Overall, SK Games is a fantastic shop with great people—I just hope they consider adding more low- or no-cost opportunities for players.
