SCG Hobby Altoona

Great store, great selection and even better staff! Definitely worth the drive to check out their stock, chat with the great people they have working there and gain new insight into what's HOT & UPCOMING! We visited all 3 in one day, and yes the interaction at each store was above par!

Drove an hour just for them to try and sell me a booster box at almost 3x MSRP price, around $290. Then they wanted to cut the seal also. Totally unprofessional for a supposed "retailer". These guys are selling at scalper price. I did not have any of these issues with other releases from them, got booster boxes no problem from them at $129.99. I guess this time around they are taking advantage of the hype. I even called ahead and they didnt mention the 3x price hike or cutting the seal over the phone. So sad to see card shops stoop this low. Went right down the road to another card shop and they dont even do one piece as their main gig and they were selling at MSRP. IF YOU CANT SELL AT MSRP DONT SELL AT ALL.

Im entirely surprised that they are not affiliated with star city games (SCG), or that they haven't been hit with C&D based on trademark. Seemed like a decent store with lots of table space. Im a MtG guy, and they didnt have much in the way of singles. Plenty of sealed product tho.

Amazing place. Very nice location, could tell the employees take pride in it. A man helped us and I'm sorry that I didn't catch his name, but he was very helpful explaining the Citadel paints which we'd never used before. The Lego selection is large, and they have tons of miniatures mostly focused on D&D but a few others.

Alot of the cards are marked alot higher than manufactures suggested retail price. Have hit some good cards here, it's just not the place to go if you are looking for a good deal or looking to only pay regular retail, expect to pay more here than you would at another card shop. They are not very knowledgeable on sports cards, more tcg geared card shop. The store is well organized and appears neat and clean. With a large selection, if the prices would come down I would be a regular customer, for now it's my third option.
