I took my nephew to Retro Quest to help him build his Pokémon card collection, and we had a great experience. The staff was incredibly friendly, took the time to help him find some awesome specialty cards that fit his budget, and made him feel excited about his collection. Seeing how happy they made him was worth the trip. Would definitely recommend!

Place is kind of hard to find, but the environment on the inside is pleasant! People talk to you like they’ve known you forever. We usually just come here for gaming, not cards so I can’t personally speak on the card collecting. As far as games though, they are EXTREMELY FAIR! Small collection of games but when they do, the collection is pretty decent! Will frequent here more often!

This shop is pretty neat. The employee and owner were both pleasant. It was my first visit, and I came in for Pokémon cards after another store recommended their selection. The employee asked whether I was looking for anything specific; I explained that I was not. While looking in the case, I spotted a few cards I liked and asked if buying a lot might get me a price break, or if that was just for card shows. He said those deals were mainly for shows, but he'd work something out. I picked out several cards. For the record, I always ask this and respect the answer—I’ll pay the marked price or not buy, simple as that. As I picked out cards, he adjusted some prices and kept a tally. Afterward, I asked about a legendary bird in holo form. He checked a bulk bin from the back but couldn’t find it. He let me look through the bin myself. It took a long time to sort through the bulk bin, and as I made piles, the employee took them to the register to price every card. I picked out over 100 cards, mostly for the art. Another person, likely the owner, helped price them, but it still took a while. After pricing, they sorted the cards into $1, $2, $3, and $5+ piles—95% were $1 cards. They wouldn’t sell me a Bulbasaur card I'd picked out because of its off-center print. I picked out which cards to keep. When tallying, I noticed the earlier price break was gone and asked again about bulk pricing; this time, he said, "Maybe." It felt inconsistent, but the owner offered 10% off, since those cards would have gone to charity. That discount was better than nothing, and I did get a lot of cards. At home, I entered the cards into my Collector app and realized that most $1 cards were actually worth less than 15¢—some under 5¢. The other piles also had cards valued below their marked prices. Everything was rounded up to the nearest dollar. I won’t tell anyone how to run their business, but I learned a lesson. I spent a little over $140 (mostly on $1 bulk cards) and saved about $10 after tax. I’m grateful for the discount, but I wish there’d been a better deal on the $1 pile, since most cards were worth pennies. Still, I got what I wanted and am happy with my purchase. Would I go back? Maybe. The store is nice, with interesting things (even ramen!). The staff is excellent, fun, and knowledgeable, and the place is clean and well-organized. My advice: avoid the bulk bin if you’re after more than 10–20 cards—it takes far too long to go through and price everything.
