A few years ago, I went into Power 9 looking for a new hobby. I had quit playing Magic for a while and was interested in getting back into tabletop gaming, maybe Warhammer or another miniature game. I have always loved Star Wars, so when the salesperson told me about Star Wars: Legion, I was excited. The person working there was helpful at first and answered a lot of my questions. They told me that Star Wars: Legion was played there weekly, that they had a huge turnout, and that beginners were welcome to come watch, learn, or play. They also mentioned that people came in to paint miniatures there. It sounded exactly like what I was looking for. So I jumped in with both feet. I spent around $500 on two starter packs and all the add-ons they had available. I went home, stayed up until 2 a.m. putting the pieces together, sorted everything into a bag I could bring back to the store, read the rules, watched YouTube videos, and got ready for the next night. I had been told Thursday was Star Wars: Legion night, and I was excited all day at work. On Thursday, I left work early so I could be there on time. I got to Power 9 right at 5 p.m. for what I had been told was a 6 p.m. event. When I walked in, no one was at the counter. There were a couple of people browsing cards and two guys sitting at a table, one painting Warhammer figures and another talking with him. I set my stuff down and looked around for a signup sheet or an employee, but no one said anything. Eventually I asked, “Does anyone know what time Legion starts today?” The guy talking to the painter said, “We don’t play that here.” I was confused and pointed out that they had Star Wars: Legion products on the shelves. He said they had one person who had wanted to start playing it, but they did not really have anyone who came in to play. He asked if I played Warhammer or Magic instead. At that point, I still did not realize he worked there. Then two other customers asked if anyone could help them get cards, and he jumped up to help them. That was when I realized he was the employee. I explained that I had been in the day before, spent about $500 on Star Wars: Legion, and was specifically told they had people playing weekly and that Thursday was the night to come in. I said I was there to play or at least watch and learn. He told me they did not play it there, but that I was welcome to bring people in and use the open tables. That was absolutely not what I had been told. I asked where the employee from the day before was, but he did not know who I meant. I asked if he knew anywhere else people played Star Wars: Legion, and he ignored the question and went back to helping the card customers. The whole experience was extremely disappointing. My wife had been happy that I was getting excited about a hobby again, because after quitting Magic I had mostly just been working and sleeping. Instead, I had to go home feeling like I had been misled into buying a pile of products for a game that apparently was not actually being played there. Since everything was already opened and assembled because I had planned to play, I asked if I could return it. I was told only unopened items could be returned. The reason I am posting this now, years later, is because I was cleaning out my office and found the box of Star Wars: Legion pieces again. It reminded me that I never actually got to play the game I was so excited about. I was sold a brick that apparently no one wanted to play except me. I have never gone back to Power 9 after that. Looking at recent Google reviews, it does not seem like much has changed. I wanted to share this as a warning to anyone else who might be told “come play” as part of a sales pitch. Before spending a lot of money, make sure there is actually a real community or event happening there.

I play a lot of warhammer 40k and this store is one of the best LGSs in not only the city, but the country. They have something for everyone. More then enough play space to accommodate full tcg tournaments side by side with a miniature wargaming tounrnament. One of my favorite things is their very generous trade in policy buying cards at a high % of market value and high demand ones at 80%. This sold me as I wanted to acquire some new models, but not go through the ebay fees and shipping to sell my cards otherwise.

Power9 is the LGS I always go to because I love their service and selection of product. I have been a warhammer40k fan for almost a year as of writing this and anytime I buy new models it is through Power9. Their pre-order service has also allowed me to buy boxes I would otherwise been unable to buy due to scalpers. They always have a great selection of Warhammer models, paints, and basing materials. Not to mention all the modeling tools too. I feel the need to mention too that they have map boards and terrain available to use any time you want to play a casual game with your friend, making this a great place to go to just enjoy some time playing Warhammer. The community here is wonderful, it is one I hope and plan to never leave. The people here are so nice, and I couldn't ask for anything better. From their great customer service to the wonderful folks who shop here, I am very glad that P9 is my LGS.

DO NOT BUY CARDS HERE SHOP TAMPERS WITH PRODUCT AND WILL HOPE YOU DON’T NOTICE. My husband stopped by to grab a box from this store because it was the only store that had Winterspell even though their prices are much higher than other shops in the area. We had purchased it ahead because they said they only had two boxes left, so when we came in they handed him the box in a bag with a sticky note labeled for my husband. Conveniently it was IN A BAG and the post it was over the seam of the box (which had the shrink wrap torn ALL down the front seam). When my husband returned home I removed the product from the bag and noticed the problem and called the store. I called up and asked about the rip in the box and why it had been given to him if it was open and right away the store associate says “oh it was accidentally cut with a box cutter”. Very assured, he knew exactly what I was talking about. So I’m curious about two things. Why he would sell the box if it’s cut open so badly (ESPECIALLY WHE HE WOULD HAVE SEEN IT PUTTING THE POST IT NOTE ON) and 2 why does this cut look NOT RANDOM box cutter accident and not like a cut at all. It looks like someone took their thumb and tore along the seam. It’s not perfect like a blade at all, it’s a tear. If you look on the picture you will also notice part of a sticker that looks like it either used to say “open” or “stop”; I find that odd too. lol the box was marked and then the sicker was only partially removed. I told the associate I really would never buy a product like this had I noticed and it not been bagged up for me like that and I really just want to bring it back show them and get my refund even though it would require me to drive 40 minutes each way. I assured him all the packs were there (as long as they sold it with all the packs in there- as part of me questioned). He puts me on hold and then I get the very “peachy” store manager. The manger tells me I’m lying….that apparently they sold the box in pristine condition and that I’m making accusations despite the box I have sitting right in front of me. What do I get out of making up a story like this and being willing to DRIVE 80 Minutes back for a refund. But instead he was rude. Kept cutting me off saying my husband should have looked better at the box, and that because the box left the store they won’t do anything. I now know why this store was the only one in the area left with product. It makes sense now. I just found out later than others that this store shouldn’t get business or be trusted. Don’t fall for their scam they are running there. If they were a store that cared about customers and the player they would have no problem if I brought it back issuing a refund. They will just sell the packs no harm no issue. The fact also that the employee didn’t miss a beat when I mentioned the cut along the seam of the box is super sketchy. Run away…..go to any of the other 37 shops we have and if no other shop has product hold off, don’t make the mistake we did. I can personally recommend trading card garage and Gacha claw. They are great places to show and care about the player. They would not sell product in this state.

I have been going to Power 9 for about 4 years now! They carry and play card games such as Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, and One Piece. The best people there are Kaitlin, Jessie, and Rob! Recently, I have been coming here to demo the new Palworld Official Card Game! This place rocks!
