Disney Lorcana

We have been opened since January 2020. I (John) have been a card collector since 1987 and never took a break from collecting. We started out as primarily a sports card store as is my background but quickly received a following for Pokemon. As of right now 40% of our sales are TCG and 60% is sports. In our first location we were not able to host play due to a small store. We moved to our current location in January 2024 and have 22 places for people to play. We have been doing Pokemon Play! for 10 months with active players and we often have 20 players and rarely less than 10. We carry a good amount of pack selection of back stock Lorcana but are not able to get any of the current set(s). Our competitive edge is our expert knowledge of the card hobby and our high level of customer service. We are a low/no pressure environment where people feel comfortable to hang out and buy/sell. I've been collecting since I was 9 years old and no matter where my life had taken me, cards were always a part of it. I'm grateful that I can come to my store every day and do what I love. We are currently looking to expand our store and purchase real estate for our final location which will allow us more seats for play and better merchandising environment. Please note that the state of Minnesota nor Ramsey County nor the City of New Brighton require a business license. We have a DBA on file with the State of Minnesota which is the only requirement.

Honestly, I wanted to like this place. The owner is a genuinely cool, laid-back guy, and the store itself has a lot going for it. Unfortunately, my experiences with one of the employees have consistently left me with a negative impression. At times, I’ve felt like I’m being given an attitude simply for spending my hard-earned money there, which makes the overall experience uncomfortable. I’m not sure if the environment is perhaps a little too casual, but I do think some additional customer service training could go a long way. I’d like to see this place succeed, and I’m hopeful that the customer experience improves because there’s a lot of potential here.

Went to my first Pokemon event here, and I couldn’t have asked for a better welcoming. Friendly staff, great players, and I won $50 store credit! Definitely coming back!!

This is a great shop for all types of collectors. Great selection of sealed products and lots of singles to dig through. While I was here grabbing some cards I saw John helping a brand new collector and provided them with a ton of good information for someone new to cards, he spent more time than he needed to making sure this person had useful information. I’ve had great luck with the pulls here and I highly recommend checking it out !

A great local card shop to buy a few packs, oogle showcase cards, and chat with fellow collectors. A nice blend of sports and non-sports. Don't be in a hurry - just sit back and relax

Pop Culture Archives is an awesome hidden gem. It’s a chill, laid back shop that welcomes all collectors from expert to newbie. I asked Willy (Billy) probably 50 questions about almost every Pokémon card product in that place and he knew it all. My FIRST time there, I ended up buying a mix of a few cool Pokémon card boxes and… Lugia V! Of course I had to go back to brag and the guys were almost as excited as I was. 😂 Two weeks later, on a whim I stopped by again. I decided to grab an ETB and one single booster pack of Shining Legends because I had never seen one before and that little blue Mew was calling me… A Mewtwo GX!? I almost cried. (At this rate, my next visit I’m pulling a Moonbreon.) They have a variety of the new stuff, cool old stuff you haven’t seen in a long time, and something in every price range!
