I might be willing to change my rating, but yesterday I went in at Opening & several of the other shoppers who were waiting were Argentina/Fifa fans from out of town… It was very hard to move through the shop & I had a minor encounter looking through the Manga section near the front with a Argentina (F) fan & her younger son.. Imagine having to ask someone / tell someone Excuse me 3-4 times for them to move (in their jersey & all) & THE 4-5 year old son immediately moves out of the way for me but the mom acts like she can’t hear me…. I also was not greeted AT ALL but several of the white customers as well as the Argentina woman & her son were greeted. I spend QUITE A LOT OF MONEY AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT as an individual, have always made conversation going out of my way to do so AS A SHOPPER & know some of the younger employees by name.. So, seeing the older guys (multiple) not acknowledge me just because there’s a bunch of people in the store is discouraging to see & definitely makes me not want to support the shop as much. Also, got blatantly cut in line for a comic I was interested in at the wall by a US white lady when I was standing next to the guys who were being serviced, before I got acknowledged. I’ve only ever had one uncomfortable experience before this… Imagine going to the same shop for almost 30 years. Highly disappointed, as dedicated fan/customer for decades.. My father brought me here when I was a toddler the first time… & as a Black Man from Atlanta that understands LCS across comics, cards & games.

Walkable in 20-30 min from Lenox station, mostly through a neighborhood. Came for the small selection of models, board games, and figures, stayed for the comics. The comic selection here was massive and full of surprises. If you know what you’re looking for there’s some very cool finds to be had. If you’re just browsing comics and comic collections, you could spend many hours easily. The Gundam model kit section was indeed small (like a few minutes to look through) but that didn’t stop us from finding something fun to go home with from the options in addition to some Sonic The Hedgehog x DC Comics single editions. Will def be back again at some point.

I went in looking for a series I heard about and open to suggestions. Wilson picked up that I was struggling to find what I was looking for. He was very helpful not only finding what I originally came in for right away, but also had some great insights into a few other graphic novels in my interests. I left with about 3 other series to start, read one once I got home, great suggestion, here's hoping they are all as good. This is why we should support our local comic businesses, thank you all.

I believe this is a bona fide Georgia comic institution. I've been flipping through floppies since 2007-2008 or so, give or take a hiatus here and there, and Oxford has just always been one of those names thrown around in the comic community. I should have prefaced this with, my heart belongs to another...I'm loyal to my local comic shop, but that shouldn't stop you from supporting Oxford, especially if they're your local shop. There's a lot to love here. A notch above plenty to curate your own pull list. Plenty of TPB's to get your comic fix in a more digestible form factor. Manga. You know, the backwards stuff. And lots of collectibles sprinkled throughout. I did notice a lot of the figures I looked at were marked up, nothing too grossly over priced, but enough to warrant a price check to see if I can save elsewhere. Business is business, and the competition is fierce out there. I'm glad I finally stopped by. I should have years ago. I mean I used to work at the Jaguar Land Rover dealership 2 minutes down the road for Chrissake. Now I can't dole out any kind of divine blessing, but I do hope this comic shop is around for a good long time, cause gems like this are getting scarce as the years go by.
