Really lovely place with just absolutely so many board games available to play. An absolute hidden gem in Modesto, with lots of semi private spaces to play table top and board games. They have a custom table with a screen in it in one of their rentable rooms for ttrpgs and the staff is wonderful. 100% recommend them

This store is the definition of support local game stores. You're not going to save money here. You might find it on Amazon or eBay cheaper but a game store shouldn't have to lose money to keep up with these greedy corporations. Jeff bezos doesn't run tournaments at Amazon. eBay doesn't give you prize support. It's nice to have a place like this that really caters to rpg players. The table fees are fair. I know Utopia does some dnd occasionally. I know that Turlock Comics will let you run RPGs if the tables are free. Which is cool but you can't guarantee having a spot especially if there's magic or mini events going on. Meeple always has a spot. Always has cool DMs too for those who want to try and learn

Store has been a bit of a mixed experience for me. They have a lot of stuff as it pertains to board games and tabletop RPGs. Not just your standard dungeons and dragons, but all sorts of systems. It's hard to get help sometimes because it seems like it's more of a hang out spot for the people who work/own the store. That also makes it feel a bit intimidating and unapproachable. I can't speak on their table fees being high or low for the central valley because this is the only place I've been locally that charges to play games. I have been places in the bay area that have done that and the price was similar though to be fair. Id like to say I might come back and give them another shot but I'm unsure

Meeple Valley has been a breath of fresh air for the folks of Modesto. Day by day we see the value of "third places"--as in not work/school or home where folks can spend time, becoming more and more important. Meeple Valley is a safe, fun place where you can make friends, try new things, and spend time with your loved ones without having to stress about 'what will we do' or 'does the living room look nice enough' or 'what if we get hungry'? With the addition of snacks and beverages available for purchase, along with a Mexican restaurant next door that delivers, and the most wonderful hosts in Bob and Rob you can take it easy and have a great time. The entry fee is affordable, the monthly membership is a deal, and the memories will last a lifetime.

Congratulations to Rob and the Meeple Valley team on creating such a wonderful addition to the community! Opening day impressions: - Fantastic value with $7 day pass and $35 monthly membership! - Great selection of games in the lending library and for sale out of the gate. Options for all ages and schedules. - As promised in the name, they've got a small selection of snacks so you can continue playing when parched or famished. - Don't be afraid to drop by for a "pick up game" if you're a solo gamer or small group of players. They're adding a bulletin board and programming to encourage player connections, but I'm willing to bet you'll find people happy to welcome you into a game. A stranger and I jumped into a game within 15 minutes of walking through the door this busy Saturday. - Highly recommend Tokaido Duo as a fast-to-learn, fast-paced game for two players. Two first-time players went from unsealing the box to first play through in about an hour. Appropriately enough, it features meeples!
