Family friendly environment very welcoming. They respect everyone and treat you with wonderful service. They try to accommodate for all people to the best of their ability. Definitely would recommend coming by and having a great time.

I’ve been coming to this shop for a little over a year now, and I can’t preach nothing but good things about this place For starters watching the transformation yall have done of this place and constantly continuing to hear about you guys growing and upgrading and just making it a more outstanding building, and every-time they talk about it it’s not for them, It’s for us the customers Next the staff, no matter who you’re met with it’ll be nothing but smiles and a good time they all do a phenomenal job at making sure you are accommodated with whatever your needs may be wether it be Tobin Melinda Or Jonsty because you tell just see the passion when you talk to them they aren’t there for themselves they are there for the community and to give us not only a shop to purchase our goods from but a place to come and hang out with friends shoot some pool or play cards and relax and be comfortable let our hair down from the exhausting days at work you just endured If it says anything I drive 40 minutes to this shop twice a week sometimes more just to play games and see the people there just because of the environment they have created and it just being so inviting I could go on and on bout why we love being apart of the freaks fam 🫶🏼

It's a mixed bag. I went into the shop for my 2nd and 3rd times last week after being away for about a year. Played a game of magic when a person from our pod was called away from our table to be told that everyone was complaining about the volume of her kids when they're just having whimsical fun. She came back to the play and you could tell her whole mood was down and off. To avoid the problem (like most parents do), she'll probably end up taking her kids somewhere else. I believe the other patrons in the shop ended up being a little louder than the rascals afterwards. It's oriented as a "family business" but from what I heard, the billiards lounge takes precedence when the sealed product is made for the youth. I could be wrong but there aren't many places in Martinsville where a single mother can take her kids and enjoy herself just as much. Now there's one less spot. Cheers if I get the same copy and pasted message about slander that I saw reading the other reviews.

MarvelFreaks is by far my favorite card shop to go to. I have tried so many other shops and none of them feel as accepting or comfortable to be at. The prices for products are reasonable, and the people who work there are very kind, helpful, and all around fun individuals. I've gone to a few prereleases there for MTG and it has been nothing but fun. My friend group meets there to play Commander and we always have a good time whenever we're there. Shout out my man Jonstee, he a real one. 🫡

After being a customer for over three years, I have now came to the conclusion that this is NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY establishment. Before the pool hall was opened, it was fine. I have brought my children (4 and 6 years old) multiple times to play on their Playstations (back when it was $5 a piece to play all day). They enjoyed hanging out with the magic group that I found as friends. As a stay at home mother, that has no outlet for "babysitters", it was convenient that I could bring the kids to play games while their mother got to play some tabletop gaming. I've been coming every Monday and Friday for the last 3 years. Recently, my husband got a new job schedule that doesnt allow me to leave them with a responsible adult, their father. So, I've been bringing my two children. Today I was told that there has been multiple complaints by the pool hall attendees and magic players that my children are "too loud". I was told that I need to quiet them down or they wouldn't be allowed back. Although, the pool hall stays loud and the magic players make loud noises all the time. Point fingers at the kids though. So yeah, not family friendly by all means. Ever since this establishment opened the pool hall, they have neglected the gaming side of their business and their "family". Ps. If you leave a review on this establishment be prepared to recieve backlash via Facebook if it's a negative one. I have deleted my previous review that left a 5 star. True colors shown.
