Mansfield Comics and Manga

I have visited this store several times and usually had a good experience. Not today though. Today I stopped in at Texas slabs which is two doors down and purchased some jerky prior to going into the store and had it in a bag. I went and browsed the store looked at some comics and began leaving. The empty headed youth at the counter decided to say quite forcefully as I was leaving “sir you’re going to have to pay for those!” I was quite confused and asked him for what? he then said “oh I thought you picked some stuff up”. I then exited the store and went to Flip of a Coin games and made a purchase and then returned to the comic shop to speak to the kid and asked him for his and his supervisors name and a good contact number for the supervisor. The kid began getting evasive and said in a tone that was more annoyed than anything “look dude I’m sorry, I heard your bag rattling and thought you were putting stuff in there” when asked about his supervisor he wouldn’t give any number but the store number and wouldn’t give a time to call him. The bag in question was barely big enough for a pound of Jerky and would not fit anything else and of course he saw me picking stuff up because I was looking at stuff. His annoyed attempt at “apology” is not acceptable and if I’m going to be accused f theft just because he heard a bag rattle I will no longer shop at this store. There are more than enough comic shops in DFW to shop at. I will be calling to speak to the supervisor/owner Monday. I hope he is there to speak to. His people definitely need better training and better manner Update: I spoke to the owner of this establishment who tried to blame the youth of this kid and his lack of experience on the encounter. He then tried to bribe me into removing the review with a credit. When I told him that he needed to train his people better he then told me as someone that has been losing business of the last four years t really hurt him to receive a one star review where I was just basically using it to make fun of a young kid before he had a chance to resolve it himself. Even though he had no contact info for me. I would not bother to go to this store if I was anyone new. If you have a bad experience here the owner will try to bribe and then bully you.

Went here once and gonna come back soon. They have an amazing collection of manga but I wish they had more like Romance but overall nice stickers, nice employees and nice vibes

Mansfield Comics and Manga is a great local shop and absolutely worth checking out if you’re in the Mansfield or South Arlington area. While the space is on the smaller side, the selection is solid and thoughtfully curated. They have a nice library of trade paperbacks, a strong manga selection, and a decent assortment of toys and collectibles as well. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and consistently offers great recommendations, and the rest of the staff clearly knows their comics too. Everyone I’ve interacted with has been helpful, approachable, and genuinely enthusiastic about the medium. I also want to address another review mentioning consistently late pull lists. I know several comic shop owners, industry writers and artists, and people who work in distribution, and delays are almost never in the hands of individual shop owners. Comic shops of all sizes are at the mercy of the supply chain, and carriers like FedEx and UPS can — and do — impact deliveries across the board. Issues like that affect everyone, not just one shop. If you’re looking for a reliable comic store in the Mansfield/South Arlington area, especially if your previous go-to shop has moved farther away, I’d encourage you to stop in and give Mansfield Comics and Manga a fair shot.

What a great place! The super nice gentleman that helped me out made me a customer for life in one visit!! Super well stocked for the size well laid out and just a nice place. I was interested in a new series and he helped me out with getting both of the new issues. Thanks for a great visit.

Really nice little shop. The owner was super helpful and willing to chat it up about any and all thing comic related. I even brought up a book I'd been looking for for awhile and while we were talking about it her tried to look it up for me. 100% will be coming here again.
