It was an okay place. They didn’t have the comic book my son was looking for, but we were able to get some Pokémon cards. The biggest issue was the customer service. The employee seemed more interested in watching a movie than checking us out. Even after telling him we were ready, we stood there for about five minutes waiting while he continued watching. Will continue going to our usual place in Denham Springs, then coming back.

My friend and I went to this store at visitors from out of town both leaving with sour tastes in our mouths. It’s a bit ridiculous the up charge on comic book covers and the comics themselves, but their MTG and Pokémon products are a different story. The magic cards are ludicrously expensive when compared to market trends. I get the store needs to make money but I assume they’re getting product from a supplier to be sold at MSRP, but the mark up on product is insane!! The Pokémon stuff has to be criminal!!!! I was browsing through all of the stuff and there’s no consistency just, “oh this one has a hit let’s make it 30$ a pack”. There’s 0 incentive as a buyer to spend your money here because you’d be better off going to a card show and buying from vendors there! They have a lot of product and when you look at the prices it makes a lot of sense. I tried talking to the man at the counter, old guy with a beard, asking if these prices were negotiable because of how high the markup was and he said, “not if you’re only buying one thing.” I barely wanted to buy ONE THING, now you’re trying to get me on the up-sale? We walked out after that. 0/10 take your business elsewhere when it comes to Pokémon and MTG products.

i love double play for selection on my pokemon, although i’ve had a few interactions with one of the employees in specific and has been rude to my friend about comic book questions and rude to me about pokemon. the man who wears a hat and has a beard (vague description i understand) but it’s not okay to talk to your customers poorly. and for a day you close at 6, showing up at 5:53 for one specific item and choosing to spend my money at this business, I feel i should not be treated with disrespect and the feeling im annoying someone. the moment i walked in, he told me they were about to close as if he was trying to get me to not shop, but i found that to be silly since i knew i was just getting something real quick, and if your door isn’t locked, or your hours are stated online you’re open. this isn’t a restaurant, you don’t have to scrub the floors and clean grills, or do any prep work, you probably get out of there 15 minutes at most after closing. don’t treat your customers like garbage and you won’t get called out on it. again paid $130 on a $60 box and was out within a minute (willingly) but this guy rolls his eyes and is counting my money frustrated, acting short with me the entirety of our interaction like his job is 20x harder than it is. most of the employees are nice people but this particular guy has been rude on two occasions which can easily be avoided. Edit: apparently it’s pretty reputable for your staff to have been rude over the last few years, that’s a terrible look for business and for what!? your job is significantly easier than most and you get paid to be there. absolutely unacceptable.

This review is for its capacity as a comic book store, so may not apply to their cards. Good store overall, but plenty of pros and cons. The staff is knowledgeable and typically friendly. They have a wide selection of current comics and have some back issues The prices however are seemingly random and do not align with the market. I’ve seen comics typically priced at 4 dollars marked up to 20 dollars which is just insane. I’d say their biggest strength however is their collected editions and that’s what I mostly go there for.

Gave this place two chances because they have a good selection of modern and current comics but won't go back. Besides one young lady that works there the staff is miserable and rude. They pack the long boxes extremely tight and every comic gets bent when you pull them out. They use cheap clear tape on the bags so even if you can pull your comic out the box you will still end up bending it when you try n board it. Prices are marked up seemingly at random.
