HobbyTown Yorktown, VA

Terrible customer service. Kids working behind the RC counter just chit chat and have minimal knowledge about the hobby. Not sure if the kid I spoke to about what I was looking for was high or what..he just had this blank stare like I was speaking a foreign language, i've not been in the hobby long and thought it was odd someone working at the RC dept. had never heard of what I was looking for. Seems like they only care about selling RTR RC's. My daughter did find a squishy that she liked...SMH!

Nice large selection of hobby stuff. From models to RCs. Was going to buy a really nice RC for my grandson but it was so expensive. Almost had myself talked into it, then the guy told us that the battery and charger are sold separately. So that would have been an extra $120.

It is a very nice store and the people are very nice with a large seIection of plastic models, R C cars and trains.I didnt feel there were lots of R C plane accessories for people that actually still build planes. Maybe I missed some as was trying to look at everything and did not ask. I guess it would be very understandable as people mostly buy a prebuilt foam plane in a box. and there were many of those . Not many hobby shops around anymore so I sure hope the can stick around as I enjoyed the visit .

We walked out with a new Proboat Impulse 32 and electrical connections. Upstairs is also a really nice drift track with plenty of seating. $10 to practice all day! There is a nice selection of everything, so there’s something for everyone. I notice every Hobbytown has what seems to be random items 50% off, everyone is different so you should go back and visit frequently because it’s like an Easter egg hunt.

I don’t normally leave reviews but this place has definitely been my heaven on earth. I just started a RC car hobby and they have everything I need. In the last two months I’ve purchased several RC cars, replacement Parts and batteries at great prices with and without the coupons that they send to my email. The guy at the RC counter is very knowledgeable and will either give you the guidance to fix your cars or he will dive in it for you. Great busines that one is! And they have more than just RC cars!
