Gathering Grounds

This place is awesome! It’s such a great space! Really spacious and neat! Great find for our family. We went with our 7 year old on the hunt for Pokémon cards and we were able to look through the bulk cards (on request) and get a few packs too. Honestly though, the best part was the service! Matt was exceptional, super patient and kind, and really made our kid feel welcomed.

Great shop to visit while you are in Portland. Both Pops and Matt are great to deal with. Limited pokemon cards but great for magic the gathering. Highly recommend stopping by.

I have been coming to this shop more or less since they opened. I've spent a fair bit of time here playing games, buying/selling cards, etc. The shop's staff have fostered a welcoming space and focused on making sure that whether you're a kid buying $.25 singles, or someone spending thousands a month on sealed products, you are treated as a valued customer. The community that comes here for draft, commander, pauper, etc are often reflective of the atmosphere the shop has fostered--in other words, the people who play here are also good. It's rare to see someone get heated, it's rare to hear nastiness or mean spirited remarks, and in general most people are all here for the same reason: we love playing games. If I had to point tourists or New Englanders towards one shop in the Portland area, I'd point them here.

One of the best game stores I’ve been to! Fantastic space with a great selection of packs, singles, precons and accessories with a super friendly staff. Definitely worth stopping in to check them out!

Great staff, really nice environment and at a really convenient spot. I've played two events here now and had a lot of fun both times. Really impressed with the selection for singles, especially the newer Secret Lair stuff. Looking forward to seeing this store make a mark on its community!
