GameTown - Covington

Place has been open for a while and I finally got time to go in. The atmosphere here is alot more welcoming than at good AF games. Friendly and welcoming like one would expect at a game shop Come here to play, buy cards, sell, or trade. I like how even if the owner isn't interested in a particular deal he will recommend someone who does. They have a healthy stock of Items and collectibles across the spectrum Will definitely come in just to hang out whenever I get more free time on my hands. Forgot to asks about if DnD is ran out of here too I finally got rid of my Pokémon cards here at the recent event. I got what I felt was a reasonable deal. Sure is it a fraction of what I probably could have gotten yes. But I also wasn't trying to invest time in paying to go to a show/event or pay to send cards out to be graded. I've been sitting on them 15+ years.

BEST TRADING CARD PLACE TO BRING YOUR FAMILY! I have been here multiple times and during those visits I have seen countless times the owner would randomly help parents out when kids want certain items discounting things or even hand out free packs kids. Obviously this can’t always happen but the environment is more about bringing smiles to kids and teaching them. There has been many times either myself or others have come by and wanted to buy something and was turned down as the time was being saved for the kids. I have been to many other card shops all over the state and not a single one has given anything out to simply bring a smile to a kids face like Gametown has. I recommend you bring your family here and if you have any questions the staff would be happy to answer them for you. I got back into the hobby at the beginning of 2026 since I left when I was a kid and the employees have helped me and recommended products not because they need to sell an unpopular but because it was worth buying interns if value. They walked me through what you can pull and even recommended if it’s a product work keeping sealed. During a release (as long as they have stock) they sell the newest items at msrp and are cheaper then other shops. They do run out of their stock quickly for new releases for a good reason. Since getting back in the hobby I am up 50% my investment all through recommendation from their staff. This shows that they care about their customers and and not about the bottom line. I recommend this place to all my friend and family as I know you will. It takes just one visit to see what I have said is simply understating what Gametown does for their customers. Your treated like family and not like a bottom line.

They definitely prioritize their regulars. Almost a half hour before I was even greeted by an employee. Limited selection of overpriced singles (Pokémon tcg) Idk what source they use to determine value and cost, or maybe I looked like a target for price gauging. 🤷‍♂️ In any case, it wasn't terrible, they didn't rob me...Couple dollars here and there over market, nothing I couldn't live with. Seemed like a really cool spot. Again, for locals and regulars, I bet it's a much better experience. If I'm ever in that area again, I'd would return..give them atleast a second chance. 🤷‍♂️

Riding passenger princess on a day date with my guy. We decided we would visit Game Town ( neither of us has been there before). We are navigating with Google maps and I'm on alert trying to locate signage for Game Town. I find our target. My eyes zoom in and fixate on the bright pink painting of Jigglypuff dancing above the sidewalk. I spent several minutes photographing and recording images of the grand mural painted onto the glass windows and doors. It was such a delight for the senses! 🤩 The glass was painted with Magic : The Gathering symbolism, which was exciting because it gave me confidence that Michael and I would find what we were looking for inside. Entering the shop I am greeted by a display of assorted Snorlax. (Can't lie, I really want the biggest one on the table 😜). Plenty of seating for game nights. There are several arcade machines alongside a beverage vending machine. They offer free guest access to their wifi network. 🛜 The atmosphere had an edge to it while one listened to the sounds of alternative rock playing overhead. I enjoyed the novelty of looking at cards in a large upright glass display shelf. There is a bathroom, but I did not use it or see it. Great inventory, giving one plenty of "choice" while shopping. The artwork didn't stop at the doors either. Inside the shop it is decorated with product displays, promotional posters and signage, and even hand painted canvases. I was filled with a sense of whimsy and anime fan girl ❤️ definitely reminded me of being a kid and going to a comic book store and it was the ONLY place I could buy Sailor Moon merchandise. Check this place out.

The best TCG shop on the Northshore and so much more coming. This is the new hang for anyone who loves tabletop or card games. The owner and staff are super knowledgeable and what they are building is something this area has been desperately needing. Go and check them out and show some love to your new nerd heaven 🤓😇
