GameStop - 818 - Rancho Cucamonga

I’ve been coming to this store for years, and it used to be one of my favorites. I could always find games here that I couldn’t find anywhere else, and the previous manager, the super friendly lady, always made me feel welcome. I visited so often that they even called me a “regular.” Unfortunately, everything changed when the new manager, Frank, took over. He’s consistently unwilling to help, and worse, he doesn’t seem to know how to handle even basic tasks. His ego keeps him from asking other managers for assistance, and instead of learning, he makes up his own rules. For example, when I asked about a promo that GameStop was running, he insisted it didn’t exist. I literally had to point to the sign right next to him and ask him to read it. When I asked if he could print a list of the games and clearance items in the store, something other GameStop locations do, and something this store used to do, he refused, claiming they’re “not allowed” to do that. The truth is he simply doesn’t know how and is too lazy to learn. At this point, it feels less like GameStop and more like “Frank Stop.” I had planned to buy a bunch of pre-owned games for my library and a couple of clearance headsets, but his attitude completely ruined the experience. There’s nothing wrong with not knowing something, nobody is perfect, but lying to customers and refusing to ask for help is a whole different issue. If you have other GameStop locations nearby, I strongly recommend going to those instead. And if you see Frank, just turn around and walk out.

Very helpful staff, nice location, and fast service makes this one of the best gamestops I have visited recently.

Attempted to sell me a "new" game that was opened. At full price. This has happened before at gamestop. Why are brand new games being sold unsealed? Are they selling preowned or returned copies as new? This was a small indy game, not likely it was "tested" by staff, though even then you would be getting a used copy. This is unacceptable and feels like something that could expose gamestop to lawsuits. Did not buy it and purchased elsewhere. Arrived new AND sealed. Dont try and sell a burger with a bite taken out of it as "new".
