GameStop - 608 - Meriden

Going to let my member ship expire. Original got a membership to by pokemon cards for myself and 4 year old daughter. But I could by cards cheaper from a local scalper then the price gamestop is selling the cards for. The company is destroying the hobby. I was going to pre order the entire 30th anniversary set. But not after the six hundred dollar price for the 30th anniversary upc. How are families going to afford that? Gamestop please bring prices back down so families can actually enjoy going to the store. Scalpers like gamestop and the ones that clear out other stores are literally destroying this hobby.

I came in to ask about how trade ins work and was greeted by Nolan! He was super kind and very knowledgeable about lots of areas. He informed me about how trade ins work, the membership, and educated me on differences in the consoles I was interested in. He was manning the store alone and did such a great job at being cool and calm, even though he had quite the line. He definitely checked in on everyone in line and assured they were all seen and acknowledged. Great service and again very knowledgeable and kind! Highly recommend this game stop :)

If you're a woman I definitely don't recommend, it seems this store is stuck in the past in terms of women playing games. Came in for something in particular regarding a new game, tried to swindle me on the price and sell it for me $70 more thinking I haven't already done my research. Then they tried to sell me/suggest some "girlier" things even though it was not what I wanted. Never coming back here again.

This GameStop in Meriden is not your typical GameStop but like in the best possible way. It has the welcoming vibe of a local card and game shop vibe while still having the inventory and resources of a big corporate store. Claire is always incredibly helpful, and you can really tell she has a genuine passion for what she does. She goes out of her way to answer questions, make recommendations, and help track things down. Like even called stores to verify stock and was down on her literal knees to fix a printer so a personal more knowledgeable about a topic could answer questions Cedric and Naomi have helped us many times as well, from teaching us different card games to working on building and supporting local gaming communities. You don’t always see that level of involvement and enthusiasm at a chain store I’ve been to other GameStops in the area, and this one is just different ya know? Because of the atmosphere and the staff, I find myself coming here more and more. Highly recommend this location!

Great location. The employees are actually nice and helpful. They always have the game I'm looking for in stock. Their trade-in policy is very fair, especially if you become a paid GameStop Pro Member. If you're a real gamer, you'll get more for trade-ins, numerous special discounts, you'll recoup your membership fee quickly and save real money. And this is the GameStop to go to.
