I visited the Opelika GameStop location regarding an issue with my Pro membership. When I signed up, I was told I would receive monthly coupons; however, when I returned to redeem them, I was informed that they had already been used. The employee who assisted me was unable or unwilling to explain how this occurred and was rude and dismissive when I asked for clarification. I was ultimately sent away without any resolution. In addition, this same employee had originally signed me up for the membership, which makes this situation especially concerning. I also experienced noticeably different treatment compared to other customers in the store, which contributed to an unprofessional and uncomfortable environment. When I requested that this issue be escalated to a district manager, store staff refused to do so. I am requesting that this matter be formally investigated, that my missing benefits be restored, and that a district manager contact me directly to address both the membership issue and the in-store experience. If needed, I am willing to provide additional details, including the date, time, and a full description of the interaction, details on how this person is living in the Store, visual appearance in front of children and how he picks and chooses who to interact with and who to ignore based on Store analytics and customer personality and looks. BE CAREFUL when shopping here and watch what they are charging you. Yesterday, we bought our son a game that was clearly marked $30 on the package. While at the checkout I noticed our charges were at $89 and climbing. When I asked the cashier (Cameron) why our purchase was over $89, he told us their game prices had gone up. I told him he can’t sell us a game for more than it was visibly and clearly marked on the package. He then started rambling on about a pro membership and how we “needed” it (which I know for a fact isn’t true) etc. Essentially this man: 1. Tried to charge us more for a game than what it was marked. (Nor did he mention the price difference when he scanned it) 2. Tried to convince us a pro membership is “needed” when in reality, unless you plan on buying multiple games a month, its most definitely NOT needed 3. Had I not been paying attention and asked the reason why we were being charged so much, he never would have said a word to us about these extra charges. In the end, after I was firm about how he can not charge me more for a game than what it was clearly marked, he did remove all the excess charges and we were finally charged correctly. So Buyer Beware so this same thing doesn’t happen to you.

I have been shopping at GameStop since I was a child. And recently been using this one to do preorders and get retro games. I gotta say Cameron and other sales associates are very friendly and try to save you money and help you have a great experience. I always walk in and they are talking about Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, pokemon or something with customers and it really makes me feel welcomed. Definitely one of the best GameStop's I've been too. Definitely will be shopping here from now on.
