GameStop - 442 - Silverlake Shopping Center

So I usually don't write a review on much, but when I do thay means theres either something wrong or good. But something is wrong, now I cant really get upset because gamestop product is being sold. But ive noticed an employee has been buying product that has been coming in. and ive been to this location twice, and noticed this individual has been buying the stock before it goes onto the shelf. Leaving the store a bit empty. When this happens you lose customers, granted gamestop is making money still, but when a few people leave it ends up being a problem not just in emotions but revenue, less people less money. But hey im just a random person.

My husband went in and asked for the most reasonable Xbox controller they had. The guy immediately said $69 he looked and saw a controller for $29 and said what is that? The person said “IDK I guess a Xbox Controller” I’m very disappointed in this level of service. Should have just went to Targets only 2 min away.

I'm very disappointed in this Gamestop location. This store is unfortunately the designated 'Retro' store in the area, so all of the games for previous generation consoles get routed here. I went to check them out this weekend in the middle of the afternoon (during normal business hours) and the store was temporarily closed. After making the mistake of waiting around for them to reopen, I was greeted with a chaotic scene of merchandise everywhere. I was in the store to try to take advantage of a sale - 4 used $20 games for $10 each. When I managed to find 4 games that looked reasonably good everything rang up for $90 instead of the $40 I was expecting. It turns out one of the $20 games had been marked up in their system but they never bothered putting an updated price tag on it and refused to honor the marked price, even though this is a violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. I've had past issues at this location as well with cashiers adding on and charging for game warranties without asking. I'd definitely recommend avoiding this location - there are other game stop locations nearby that are at least a bit better managed or there are Indy game stores that are a bit more expensive but won't try to cheat everyone who comes through the door.

Please don't shop here if you can avoid. The clerk, Adriel was very deceptive today when I went in to purchase a Nintendo 2ds(pre-owned). There was one in the glass case that was in much better condition than the ones in the back so I asked for it. The price on the sticker was $123 with a pro account which I have. Well he took the sticker off and charged me $150 dollars for it. When I asked why…he refused to honor the price on the sticker. Absolutely horrible business practice when he and I both saw the sticker price. He claims the price “recently changed”…if that were the case for a pre-owned device then they should do a better job at updated their price stickers to reflect the changes! I contacted their corporate office and I will be returning the device. Got to the one in the Pearland Town Center…Alex over there is much nicer!

Love this location! It’s under new management and it seems like the employees are a lot happier, more patient, and me as a customer I enjoy the visits more. Not saying anything was wrong with the old management, just saying you can tell them difference in the energy of the store! Specifically I love working with Kai. I haven’t had many encounters with him but the last 3-4 were extremely pleasant! There was another store manager visiting and helping, her name was Imani or Amani lol one of them, but she was also extremely pleasant and helpful. I don’t know everyone at this location yet being that there are many new faces but Kai is excellent and the manager (Hailey) I believe is her name is really making the store lighter and the visits more enjoyable! Keep it up the great work!
