GameStop - 2710 - Gallatin Center

Spotty at best. This place has gone through it. I had great experiences with the store... over a year ago. I'm guessing now they pressure CSR's to push pro memberships, warranties, gamestop branded items and other add ons to purchases. It makes for an insufferable used car salesman-esque experience. And if you're reading this you should know better than to buy anything branded with the gamestop logo. About a month ago I came in to buy an Switch 2, they tried to pressure me into a warranty, I told them I'll pass. Then they told me i couldnt return it for any reason afterwards (Which is wrong, gamestop offers a 7 day return policy for anything purchased, lying in order to try to pressure me into a 50 dollar warranty) it kinda put me off. Today I came in to buy a micro SD express card, the rep tried to upsell the gamestop branded card (which is likely made by Longsys/lexar with worse read speeds and super unreliable.) over the Nintendo branded Samsung made cards (which are faster, more reliable and come with a 3 year manufacturer warranty). The Rep tells me that he " sees more of those samsung cards coming back, because they rushed them" which is a bold faced lie. I don't know why he lied, nor do I care. I bought the samsung card (which there was less of on the shelf behind the counter for a reason). I didn't make a scene or argue but I am writing this for a reason. When someone at this store tells you something, dont buy it and look up a little information on it afterwards, make a purchasing decision later. I will be voting with my dollar and not coming back unless other options are off the table. Its sad to see. I once grew up looking forward to shopping here. Now I usually leave kinda internally perturbed.

The manager apologized for an issue with my last visit. I still don't feel like going back to buy stuff yet but will give them another chance in the future for transactions dealing with buying and grading pokemon.

Bought a used/refurbished controller around opening time on 5/5/26 the guy on shift was incredibly nice and helpful

Went in to get some used games got 3 in total. 2 of the 3 games did not work. They did offer and exchange which I took. Only to have one of the replacements also not work. Huge waste of time and money. Definitely lacking QA. I will just buy new from anywhere else.
