GameStop - 184 - Montgomery Mall

Friendliest interaction I've ever had at a GameStop! Blaine checked us out today when buying a Pichu toy for our toddler and was so kind and friendly :)

It’s always a great experience when I walk in here. It’s always very neat and organized and any everything is easy to find. They’re always very helpful whenever I have any questions with anything Sofie’s always doing a great job the rest of the team as well.

More than few bad experiences in the past, but this time will be the last. First issue is they NEVER answer the phone. Walked in the store by 7:30ish excited to do a trade in to help cover the cost of purchasing a game system. DIDN'T happen… The guy at the counter said his co worker was already too busy doing a trade in for another customer. There were NO customers in the store by the way. We told him we wanted to do a trade in for Xbox 360 & 2 Wii consoles, he said they don’t take those consoles!!?? I knew that was not right because game stop even says on their website they DO take those consoles! I asked them if they won’t help us then which GameStop would? I asked if Wheaton location would and the guy said no you would have to go to PG County!!! I absolutely didn’t believe a thing this kid said….So I called the Wheaton location… they said they do take those items and would be more than happy to help us! By the time we got to Wheaton location they kept apologizing for the bad experience from Montgomery mall location even though it’s not their fault Montgomery mall location has poorly trained staff. The Wheaton location was much busier, and was so MUCH MORE professional! We got there by 8:20/8:30 they were organized with getting customers in and out and helped us even after the store was closed by 9pm!! Left Wheaton location happy & satisfied and able to do our trade in and buy ourselves a new PS5 Pro. Montgomery Mall Game Stop location needs to train/ educate their staff better! Don’t think I will ever go back to this location again even though it is 10 minutes from my house! I would rather make the 25-30 minutes trip just to go to the Wheaton location instead!!!

Dropped off some cards for my first ever PSA submission and was impressed with the experience. Very seamless and easy and an employee named Blake was extremely helpful and patient with me, helping me prep my cards while being friendly amidst a busy store. Will definitely be grading my cards at this location in the future.

This has to be the most cluttered GameStop I have ever seen and I have been to many. However i hesitate to give it only 1 star because they had a lot of merch, are working with a small footprint and they seem to be leaning into it as a clever display. And I’m sure the people working here are probably going through a lot in a mall like this. Im gonna be fair and say 3 stars.
