GameStop - 0862 - Quad at Whittier

First time here at this GameStop. I went there to return a game I bought at another location. At first it seemed like the staff wasn’t gonna help me, but they were just doing their job and taking precautions. They ended up being super nice and we talked about GTA for about 10 minutes. I would come back here if I lived closer!

Id like to begin this review by saying, ZOEY and PAULIE are the absolute BEST! They are our favorite people at this location. ALL of the employees there are amazing! They are so connected to the customers. We feel more like family when we come in. I have a 7 year old son, 13 year old son and 15 year old daughter, who’s named ZOEY too! We come regularly to purchase Pokemon cards, and they have ALWAYS made us feel like family. They know how to engage with the customers and make us feel valued and welcomed at this location. GAMESTOP WHITTIER, cherish these employees that you have at this location, give them a raise, keep them here and you will continue to get amazing reviews from LOYAL customers like my family. 8+ years of us living in whittier and coming here! Thank you again PAULIE AND ZOEY AND STAFF, for always being so kind and loving to my kids! You’ve created such amazing memories for them, I’m so grateful for you both ♥️ 🥹 and the other guys too! Y’all are just freakin fantastic!

This is the last GameStop in Whittier not Surprised it won’t be around much longer . There was a Pokemon exclusive event for a card Gengar stamped last week . I called to see if it was available they says only preorders which is false . They refused to give me a promo even if I spent money .James or whoever are manager are basically backdooring these cards and selling them to friends. I called corporate already to share what they are doing is scummy. No wonder they going out of business treating paying customers bad and keeping product for themselves to sell on the side .

The amount of time I’ve wasted with this store in a joke. I drove 30 min in for the first time to send cards off to PSA. I come in & internet is down. I call back later & I was told its up. I drive back another 30 min just to be told it down. I come back a week later for the third time. I try to call beforehand to not waste my time. I try to send cards to grade yet AGAIN now the employee is not qualified. Absolute waste of time.

went in to grade some cards and emo lady behind the counter was being rude for no reason lol. i get gamestop isn’t a fun place to work at but she makes it seem like she’s forced against her will. she asked me if that’s all i was buying at store and said yes as it was the only thing i was going in for but ended up checking the store out and get a plushie for my little brothers birthday. we wait in front of the counter and she asks if we had a question while holding a plushie from their store?? we tell her we came to purchase and she stares us down for like 5 seconds and lets her other associate take the transaction. managed to hear her say “i just asked them if they were buying anything else in the store” your working at a dying business as it is and your complaining that we are supporting your dying paycheck.
