Excelsior Games and Comics

Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The players were friendly and welcomed me to watch and learn the game they were playing. This is a great place to hangout and I will making this my local haunt.

I have been to several other game stores and none compare. Excelsior is more than just a game store, it is a community. Not to be cheesy, but I had a history of not really fitting in with peers from high school and before and in moving to the area and going to Excelsior, my life greatly changed. I have built many friendships and am even marrying someone I met there. The owner is wonderful and always helpful and kind. I have even got to know his family coming in throughout the years. I have attended events such as MTG Friday night magic, pre-releases, board game nights, role playing campaigns, and one shot events. I see Excelsior involved with community events. I have had probably thousands of conversations with people about all my nerdy interests and learned about more. I'm thankful to have a place like Excelsior to not only buy games, cards, and accessories at, but to be able to know all my fellow nerds who come in.

As a listener of “Are You Wearing a Helmet?” from many years ago, I was super excited to make the pilgrimage from Florida to Excelsior today. I got to meet Rob and spend some money there. The game shop was really cool, well organized, and seemed like a place I would visit if I lived nearby. Thanks for the warm welcome and the conversation. I look forward to new episodes with Jeremy! I neglected to take a selfie, but will eat a space rod in honor of my time spent there.

While prices are a bit more then other shops I've been too, like Galactic in GR, but I wouldn't go as far to say the prices are "scalper" levels. They are high, but manageable to someone like me, and others who visit the shop. Most people are willing to pay those prices, and while that cannot be the case everytime, it shouldn't derail from how hard the owner tries to keep up with the ever so growing market, and well combat prices due to scalpers. I'm not into Pokemon, but I can say what I did for MTG. Shop is relatively clean, despite the fact that building itself is older and you can see that. Musty, but clean and welcoming regardless. The shop is large is enough to fit a majority of players you go there to play and whatnot. I enjoyed my time there, and the employees are kind. Selection of MTG products and singles are small, but I've found what I was looking for and for that, I'm happy. I look forward to coming back soon! Thank you. 💖

Good times to be had. Some nice comics and runs available. Great game selection, which seems to be growing. Showed up on game day and had a wonderful time.
