TLDR: BEWARE. CHECK YOUR FINAL COST BEFORE BUYING SINGLES FROM HIM. He says he comps TCG player to bring you in, then he’ll charge whatever he wants for a 0.38 cent card rounded to 1.00$ without telling you. I paid 28$ for 20$ worth of cards bc I trusted him to honor his word on TCG player median prices. After calling him to talk about the overcharge , he tells me, “Sometimes we’ll deem a 0.38 cent card is worth 1.00$ or we’ll round 1.54 card to 2.00$. Who really know the price really.” VERBATIM. Not TLDR: Okay, should’ve read the other reviews first. I called ahead to make sure Corey had the cards I wanted in stock - he did. I asked if he comped TCG player for price. He said he did. I went and got my list of cards. And he rang up the price. I trust most LGS to honor TCG price or Card Kingdom price when they say they would. It’s good business since he appears to be a nice guy, and said “we make sure our customers are happy with their purchase.” I go home, and check the receipt. Yes, I should’ve checked before, but I’ve never had any issues with a LGS selling singles at median price when they say they comp TCG or CK. 28$ before taxes? On 8 cards with the most being an overpaid 8$ card that was 6.80 at median? I called him, and he said, “oh, the charge wasn’t wrong. We don’t really do TCG Player, some cards are 0.38 cents and we round up to the next dollar. A card might be 1.54 but we’ll round up to 2.00$. Who really knows what the price is anyways?”. Yeah. First and last time I’m getting burned like that. Thanks for the lesson Corey. Interesting way of running a business when you say you comp TCG prices but don’t.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The customers were wonderful as well. My son just got into MTG and everyone there had wonderful tips/suggestions for him. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for mtg stuff!

I cannot recommend this location enough for your card and community needs. Cory is welcoming, helpful, and has built a store that treasures and supports its players. I have never had a bad experience here, and it has become my #1 earshot in the entire Sacramento area. The staff are friendly, the prices are fair, and the regulars are amazing people. Once again, I could not recommend them enough!

Cory’s Cards and Games is easily the best local shop around not just for the huge selection of cards and games, but for the kind of person Cory is. When I first got into Magic: The Gathering back in covid, Cory was the one who helped guide me on my journey. He took the time to explain things, helped me build my first deck, and never once made me feel out of place or overwhelmed. He’s always there to listen, whether you're a seasoned player or brand new. That kind of patience and personal care is something you don’t find at most stores. What really makes this place stand out is that Cory runs his business with integrity! Everything is priced fairly and reasonably, even the high-demand stuff. He’ll order specific cards you’re looking for, just to help you finish a deck or collection. He’s always willing to help with deck building, brainstorming Commanders, or giving honest advice. And more than anything, he treats customers like people not transactions. That’s something I value the most. Cory even goes beyond just running a business. He shares moments of his life with the community. Whether it's personal stories, life milestones, or just chatting with regulars, he’s real, down-to-earth, and always approachable. That connection makes visiting the shop feel like hanging out with a friend, not just shopping. Events are well-run, the players are welcoming, and the space has a vibe of fun, fairness, and respect because that’s what Cory built over the years. It may be small but if you want more than just a store. if you want a community, fair prices, honest help, and someone who genuinely cares; Cory’s Cards and Games is the place to be.🫶🏼
