I do not recommend purchasing a kitten from this rescue. For my daughter’s birthday we purchased a kitten. Unfortunately he had ringworm. All of our family members were infected including our other household pets. Although ringworm is not considered life threatening it is expensive, uncomfortable, and time consuming to treat. It has taken an emotional toll on our family. The treatment advice given to me by the establishment was wrong and made things worse. This leads me to believe they may not be taking the proper steps to clean their establishment after a report of ringworm. I was informed that this was not the only Kitten from their establishment that was also diagnosed with a fungal infection. They did reimburse me for the cost of the Kitten. However, this does not pay for all the medical bills, Cleaning supplies, things that had to be thrown away, Vacations that had to be canceled, and valuable time that cannot be regained. I think it is important that you’re aware of this information Prior to purchasing a Kitten from this rescue. I am now aware that there is always a possibility of ringworm when you are purchasing a kitten. However, there are steps that a rescue can take to help reduce further spread of ringworm when a positive case turns up. Additionall information: ringworm spores Are not detectable with a woods lamp. Approximately 50% of ringworm infections light up with a wood lamp (Referring to the infected hair). I hope this information is helpful when you are choosing a new furry member of your Family. Best of luck.

Cool place. Just make sure to sanitize your hands when petting any of the animals. Place also needs to make more room for the cats & they should also learn to not spray cats with water. That does not stop the cat from acting out if anything that’s just going to teach the cat to act out when you’re not there so please properly train the staff on how to care for the animals.

We love Cats & Comics. Really happy to see the cattery up and running with so many kitties getting adopted. We stop by every few months just to say "hi" and visit with the rescue kitties. 🐈 The kitties are well cared for while they are waiting for their new home, and the team at the shop always take time to answer questions about the kitties. We even donate to some of the funding drives they do. Can't say enough good things about everyone there!

Avoid at all costs if you plan on adopting a cat or kitten here. Very sick cats and kittens they are trying to get you to adopt here. Lets just say Ringworm and Giardia which is contagious to humans. Along with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) is a serious, historically fatal viral disease in cats caused by a mutation of the feline coronavirus (FCoV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) is one of the most significant infectious diseases in cats. All of their cats and kittens are not tested for any cat diseases before any of their adoptions. So who knows what you are bringing home to your other beloved pets that you already own. If you rescue cats and kittens they should all be tested by a Vet before you all put them in their enclosure to be adopted. Simple common sense, proper hygiene, proper testing of all cats and Vet checks is not being done here. My adopted kitten that I adopted from Cats and Comics died at 11 months, because of all this. So please avoid at all costs adopting a cat or kitten here, unless if you want heartache and agony of grief.

Cats and Comics Rescue is a super wonderful place with a lot of fun things to do even outside the obvious: kitties. The cats are all full of personality, even if some of them (aka Peanut) are feisty most of the time. The staff and everyone are super awesome and truly care about the cats and making sure they get to their furever homes. Plus it’s a comic/game store. They have game nights, a bunch of board games, various trading cards for purchase, and more nerdy stuff. If you love cats, comics, games, or supporting local business then check it out! Also joining Patreon lets you visit the cats any day and can even bring friends and family! (My wife and I definitely haven’t been nearly every day this week 😂)
