Edit: my suggestion then would be to give customers the choice of paying $10 to get a non universe beyond pack with admission or the $5 with no pack Huge bummer they don’t give away a free pack on Magic Commander Night anymore. Another game store in the area does $10 admission which comes with a free pack, and you get an additional pack for each game you either win or get voted by the rest of the pod as the MVP. In contrast, Cardboard Castle is $5 admission with access to the plinko board where you can win anything from snacks, promo card, or a magic pack. I always get the $0.50 bag of Cheetos, which feels bad. I do think the vibes are better at Cardboard Castle, but it sucks I will never get the rush of pulling a $50 card from a “free” pack (I know it’s not free, but it feels that way). So I have been going to the other store.

Ordered a near mint card from them. The card received is in damaged condition. Creases and dents all along the face and back. Packaging was is perfect shape so this was clearly a store issue not a shipping issue. I would not recommend this store.

The store was nice, and the new location is accessible as well. The only thing I've ever had against cardboard Castle games, is that the staff isn't particularly friendly to new faces or folks who might be inexperienced. There's a very much an expectation of you need to know why you're there, and what you're there for. No one has ever been rude or anything, but be sure you have some idea of what you're looking for before you go in there as the staff will just greet you with a blank stare and wonder why you don't know what you're talking about.

Okay so my friend and I went here last week and just to put this out there He's a YouTuber that opens magic card packs and puts them into protective sleeves because he's an avid collector. He has thousands and thousands of cards stored through his house in pristine condition literally opened and slid into protective sleeve sheets in binders so they get no damage. We went up there so that he could take some cards to see if they wanted to buy them. He likes to do this occasionally with some of the cards that he has gotten that are high value but he doesn't particularly want to collect them. Trying to recirculate some you know. We're not even going to get into the fact that I bought some mythical D&D meats and, they were moldy and we could not eat them spent almost $14 on that. But I want to get into the fact that they asked him to leave almost $800 worth of cards in their possession in a collector's binder in sleeve sheets which you can see the binder behind the cards that they sent back in the condition that they sent them back in the picture that I'm going to add to this post. Not only instead of removing them one at a time and looking at their value and stuff and then putting them back and then not decide to offer him a decent price for them which he does not expect full but at least half. But they shoved them into a plastic baggie that not only diminished value because they decided to cram them all in this tiny little plastic pack but it damaged the edges and corners of each and every single one of his pristine condition cards. I believe this company owes him money for the damages done to his property. I wouldn't take your cards here if you have anywhere else to go I would. In the picture you will see the lovely collectors sleeve case that he had for his cards and the plastic bag they put them in and how they handed them to him. This is wrong I will never spend another dollar at that store. And I'm a Long time D&D dungeon master, and I had bought books from there before and dice.

I had to write this review because I was genuinely blown away by my experience today. I’ve only been playing MTG for about four months, and Cardboard was the very first shop I visited when I picked up my first precon. I’ve been coming back ever since. Today, I came in to trade some cards toward an open Tyranid precon I had been eyeing. When I got home and started sleeving the deck, I realized about half of it was actually from the Space Marine precon. I called the store, and they told me to come back so they could make it right. The manager (I believe his name was Robert) took the time to go through everything and ended up offering me a sealed Tyranid precon they had just received—and even covered the difference in cost so I could start playing immediately. That level of customer service says everything about Cardboard and its staff. They truly go above and beyond for their customers and the community. If you’re looking for a shop where you’ll feel welcomed, supported, and surrounded by people who genuinely love the game, this is the place to go. This was my first card shop in the Augusta area, and it will absolutely remain my go-to.
