Card Traders of Austin

I want to like this place but they make it so hard. I came in on the weekend and saw a card I wanted but had to wait a couple days for my paycheck to come through, when I came back 3 days later the price was higher… and over market value. The employee wasn’t willing to negotiate with me, which is whatever, but they kept going on and on about how they’d “lose money” when I knew for a fact the card was $10 cheaper a few days ago. And I’m not stupid, I know cards can have tight margins but these stores aren’t trading to their detriment. 😂 In general, their prices are all over the place! I ended up leaving with multiple cards way below market which was cool but they lost more on that transaction than they would’ve on the $5 I was asking off the card I came there for?! It’s just bizarre. Not to mention, they have sealed pokemon product but it’s at scalper prices. It just doesn’t feel good and doesn’t make me wanna shop here. Genuinely wish them the best, but until they get more reasonable I won’t be shopping here.

The best store in town! They have amazing staff and great events for the community. They're prices are fair and are transparent with their prices as well. They only do Pokemon, Magic, and sport cards. I hope they are able to expand more into other card games the future, I bet they would rule this town if they did.

My first time in this card shop this weekend, all of the staff and the manager Aaron were very welcoming and helpful! They have a great selection of singles, and they are very fair on trades. They also had good inventory on sealed and new sets. I will definitely be frequenting this shop!

My partner and I have been coming to card traders of Austin since we started collecting Pokemon cards which was a couple years ago. The employees are always so kind and ready to assist you in any journey you are on. Honestly The customer service has yet to be unmatched by any other card store. They also always have a great selection of cards from sports to Pokémon to magic. They even have those random sets that you can’t find anywhere else. I recommend this store over any other card store. They are unmatched.

I’ve been coming here for over a year for singles and Pokémon locals, and I’ve never had a bad experience. Card Traders consistently has one of the best selections of playable singles around, and the staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful when it comes to TCGs. I honestly don’t understand the negative reviews. From my experience, the team runs a professional business and provides a valuable service to the community. Like any well-run store, they have policies and processes in place to keep things running smoothly. If you approach it with that understanding, you’ll see that they’re fair, organized, and focused on taking care of their customers. Highly recommend for anyone serious about the hobby.
