The employees are really awesome and I love that they offer such a big club space, but lately they’ve put these really ugly AI posters up all over. They’re really distracting and it’s frustrating to know a shop with such a big community chose to have a computer make them instead of asking/paying REAL artists.

Honestly, Brookhurst Hobbies is easily one of the best local spots around. It’s got that classic, welcoming small-business feel the second you walk through the door. The crew working there actually know their stuff and are always down to help you track down the right supplies or the latest TCG drops without any of that elitist attitude you sometimes get at hobby shops. What really blows me away is just how much space they have set up for gaming. The club area is huge, and the crowd it draws is awesome. Every time I’m in there, the people playing Warhammer, Magic, or whatever else are just genuinely nice, cool people who are easy to talk to. It’s a super chill, zero-pressure environment to just hang out, play a round, and grab your gear. Definitely give them your support!

Trust me, I usually don't write reviews... I came here for the first time and drove about 30 minutes to visit the store. Unfortunately, the Gundam kit I bought had broken/faulty parts inside the box. I drove back to the store, and while they said this is “rare” with Bandai products, their solution and overall response were disappointing. They opened a new kit and only gave me the specific replacement part I mentioned, then told me to take the old parts home and inspect everything myself before leaving the store. In total, I spent about an hour driving back and forth because of an issue that wasn’t my fault. The customer service and refund/replacement process really lacked professionalism and care. Definitely not the experience I expected, and sadly I won’t be coming back again.

So it's my son's 12th birthday and we agreed to build a model car together. When we actually got there and I asked questions, I believe my son lost interest due to the project taking more work than he wanted to do. As we wandered the store, we came across the RC cars section and he was hooked. Now we just have to save hundreds of dollars to start this project up. If you're into RC cars, they have a wonderful collection with some rare gems!

I really like a hobby store that tries to appeal to every type of hobby out there and this place is it. You want model rockets? You want gundam? You want models from cars to tanks to planes? You want 7 or 8 paint brands to choose from? This is the place. I even saw a very advanced model kit of Space Battleship Yamato that had motorized turrets and sound effects. On my last visit I picked up a 1/32 kit of the J7W Shinden fighter shown in Godzilla minus 1. Definitely worth a walk-around to see if anything appeals to you. They often have stuff out on clearance that may include some nice legacy or vintage stuff. Add to that, the staff is pleasant and always helpful if you are looking for something in particular.
