At Ease Games has truly outdone itself. While I first discovered them at their original spot, their new location is a fantastic step up that still preserves everything that makes a local game shop special. Finding their D&D Adventurers League games here was a game-changer—it turned out to be the launchpad for a great regular gaming group with people I met. Walking through the doors hit me with a wave of pure nostalgic joy; the space genuinely captures the welcoming, community-first vibe of the classic game stores I grew up with in the 90s. The staff is consistently helpful and approachable whenever you have a question. The decorations and visual setup are outstanding. You could easily spend hours just walking around and taking in all the painted miniatures, impressive displays, and deep selection of merchandise on the shelves. Whether you're looking for a new campaign, picking up hobby supplies, or just soaking in the atmosphere, At Ease Games is an absolute gem in Miramar.

I've visited At Ease Games several times over the years to browse Magic: The Gathering products, but my most recent visit finally convinced me to leave a review. For some context, I used to actively play trading card games but these days I'm primarily a collector. Before Pokémon's Pitch Black release, I asked in the store's Discord server whether they'd have product available. Someone let me know it would be first come, first served on release day, so I stopped by about 30 minutes after the store opened. To my surprise, there was no line and there was still plenty of product available, including Elite Trainer Boxes, booster bundles, and loose packs. As soon as I walked in, I had a conversation with who I believe was the owner (I unfortunately didn't catch his name). Before purchasing, he explained their policy: one item per household, and sealed Pokémon products are opened in-store by removing the plastic wrap after purchase. I had no problem with either restriction and happily bought an Elite Trainer Box. What really stood out was the reasoning behind the policy. He explained that he wants to sell Pokémon products at MSRP while discouraging scalpers from immediately flipping them for profit. His goal is to keep the hobby accessible for collectors and players instead of feeding the resale market. That philosophy deserves a lot of respect. Anyone collecting Pokémon today knows how difficult it can be to find new releases. And when you do find them, they're often priced well above MSRP based on current market demand. While market pricing is something most collectors understand, some card shops go a step further and price products even higher than the already inflated market, making it difficult for everyday collectors to enjoy the hobby. At Ease Games was the complete opposite. It was genuinely refreshing to walk into a store, pay MSRP, and not feel like I had to camp outside overnight or compete with resellers just to buy a single product. Beyond that experience, the store itself has a lot going for it. There's ample parking thanks to the large shared lot, the interior is spacious with plenty of room for tournaments and casual play, and every staff member I've interacted with has been friendly and welcoming. If you're a player or a collector who simply wants a fair opportunity to buy trading card products without outrageous markups, At Ease Games is doing things the right way. Their policies may limit how much you can buy, but they exist to give more people a chance to enjoy the hobby—and that's something I can wholeheartedly support. Highly recommended.

The store is well stocked and large and has plenty of terrain around for use with table top war games. Those are the only nice things I have to say. The staff is an absolute grab bag of either the most disinterested person you've ever met, or two very friendly employees who are always talking to eachother and will ignore you until you interrupt them to be served. They will litterally make eye contact with you and keep talking to eachother, not even a "can we help you." Oh, and if you're a patreon member and you want to rent a table out for your friends... the "No table fees, anytime" only applies to you, so make sure your friends bring 10 dollars each. Unfriendly atmosphere to the point where I only ever want to come here to buy something and leave. I swear its like they don't want you here. More unfun facts. Dude at the register was watchibg a youtube video on speaker, i dont care if an employee is watchibg youtube or whatever, i do care that thats the only audio playing in the store. Like really... the store is so quiet in the day that it feels like a library. The oppressive quietness definitely adds to the unwelcome atmosphere. I mean when was the last tine you went to a store and music wasnt playing, how about when an employee's youtube video was playing on speaker? The war gaming tables dont have outlets so if you do end up spending 10 bucks a person and any of your rule books are electronic make sure your tech is fully charged because you arent charging it at the table you spent money to sit at. Store could really use a chime or something for when someone heads towards the card counter while there is only one employee, though i'm not sure they wohld care to even look up if it dinged anyway. Go anywhere else.

I frequent At Ease Games to participate in Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons events. The shop has become a central hub for me to meet new people and foster a welcoming community for social gaming. I regularly introduce new participants to both games, encouraging a broader and more engaged player base. For Dungeons & Dragons, I often seek guidance from Rubin, a staff member, whose advice has consistently helped me improve my gameplay. In the realm of Magic: The Gathering, particularly Commander format, my playgroup regularly consults Mike for strategic insights and deck optimization. We’ve even made special trips to the store specifically to play against him. Many of my military-affiliated friends—who make up a notable portion of the local Magic community—appreciate that Mike is also a veteran Marine, creating an added layer of camaraderie and trust. Personally, I’ve always found Mike to be forthright and exceptionally knowledgeable. He is a key reason why my friends and I attend Commander Night on Tuesdays; his expertise and willingness to help players refine their decks by identifying the most synergistic card choices is invaluable. I also proudly support At Ease Games as a Patreon member, which grants me access to special events. This system helps foster a dedicated and respectful community, and I’ve had numerous positive experiences because of it. At Ease Games is a cornerstone of the local gaming scene. Should the shop ever close, it would be a genuine loss to the community—a deeply felt absence for many of us who have come to rely on it as a space for connection, growth, and play.

Great gaming store with very friendly and helpful staff. The new store (they moved to this location in January 2025) is almost double the size of the old store. They have breakout rooms now so you can have people playing different games in separate areas. Good amount of parking but you can only turn right out of the parking lot onto Miramar so makes it little harder to get back to the 15.
