Fun spot that's part bookstore, part coffee bar, and part gaming pad. It's such a wonderful place to explore for people of any hobby. The design of the place is creative too, with their reuse of a former vault and drive throughs. The list of events held and promoted at the store are impressive. There is free parking in several sides.

We went for an event today and I didn’t realize how large this place would be! There’s several private rooms all expertly decorated, perfect for parties or groups. A ton of books with great deals, they had 50% off very popular books when we went. A great selection of games to choose from, good games too, not just your regular common games. My favorite part was the patio with the window to make orders. We got the coconut lime black tea and the glitter green tea- next time I will definitely order some of the snacks as well. We will be back likely for birthdays and anytime we want to play some games with the option to order some cafe drinks. Super happy to have this place in CP! Very welcoming staff,

A GEM in Cedar Park- we've been waiting for a space like this for years after moving out of Austin. Games ✔️ Books ✔️ Coffee ✔️ LGBTQIA+ ✔️ Women and POC owned ✔️ and some booze if you choose. There are rooms for gaming/ gathering that you can reserve or use. There is an outdoor area for sipping, playing, chatting. Plus the building is an old bank so there's a super cool vault room. For sure check out it for gifts, games, or, like we did, a date night!

The Secret Lantern Books & Games is one of those rare sacred spaces that feels intentionally built around community. They have books, games, coffee, community events, a game lending library, and a really cool Vault game room. The espresso is excellent, the staff are kind and welcoming, and the book dragons tucked throughout the store make exploring the shelves so much fun. But what stood out to me most was the atmosphere. This team has created a space where people from many different backgrounds and interests can feel a sense of belonging and, y’all, in the State of Texas that means the world right now. Readers, gamers, creatives, LGBTQ+ folks, neurodivergent folks, and really anyone looking for connection can find something affirming here. There’s a genuine warmth to the place. What makes it especially meaningful is how naturally it all comes together as a space that encourages curiosity, conversation, and simple human connection. In a world that often feels increasingly divided, and where loneliness has become something of a public health crisis, that kind of environment matters. So go buy a book. Borrow a game. Drink a latte and count some dragons. Support the people doing the hard, hopeful work of building community one dice roll, one conversation, and one cup of coffee at a time. Lord knows Texas could use a little more of that these days.

We came here on Saturday of the Austin Book Trail and loved it! They have a nice selection of the most trendy and popular books, plus “gifty” items, and a huge selection of games (the games area is in the actual old vault of the bank building!). There are also tables for gaming and they also have a snacks and drinks bar, where they even sell beer and mead! We come back again! Support local, independent bookstores when you can!
