Awesome place! Staff was top notch! Gave us fresh wipes and a cup for our dipping dots just so we don’t get it all over ourselves ! And the Dr Pepper Raspberry Dream was delicious!

Great casual and laid-back place to go and enjoy some enrichment time, especially if you've got kids or friends who enjoy playing board games, card games, etc! There's tons of seating and big tables so its perfect for groups on the larger side. I've even gone by myself and played solitaire for awhile, it's just a cool place to be in general tbh (

We had the BEST time (Saturday may 2,2026 @7pm-9pm)at The Portal Downtown! I went with my friend and her daughters, and all of our kids (all under 6) had an absolute blast. There were so many different board games to choose from, and it kept them entertained the entire time. After playing, they loved getting their little Dippin’ Dots ice cream cups—it was the perfect treat! What really stood out to me was the atmosphere. I’m on the spectrum and have pretty severe anxiety, so I’m usually very aware of noise, lighting, and overall comfort—but this place nailed it. It wasn’t crowded or loud, the lighting was just right, and the temperature was comfortable. I felt completely at ease the whole time, which is rare for me. The guy at the front counter was incredibly friendly, kind, and knowledgeable about the games. He was also so patient and understanding—especially when my 2-year-old got into multiple games and made a bit of a mess. Not once did he seem annoyed or judgmental, and that meant EVERYTHING. It can be really hard taking toddlers out without feeling judged, but this place made us feel so welcome. If you’re looking for a fun, family-friendly, screen-free activity with a cozy vibe, this is it. We will definitely be back!!! 💛

Stopped by The Portal Downtown recently and honestly didn’t expect to love it as much as we did. We had multiple small children with us, and it ended up being the perfect spot to keep everyone entertained without feeling chaotic or overwhelming. The selection of board games is huge—there’s something for every age and attention span, which made it super easy to bounce between games and keep things fun. One of the highlights for us was getting to customize our own popcorn snack, and sodas. The kids loved being able to mix and match flavors, and it made the whole experience feel even more unique. What really stood out, though, was the overall vibe. It’s clean, cozy, and surprisingly calm. The noise level was low, the lighting wasn’t harsh, and it just felt like a space where you can actually relax while still having fun. That’s hard to find, especially when you’re out with little kids. The person working the front counter was great—very friendly and easygoing. He handled everything with patience and didn’t seem bothered at all by kids being kids, which made the experience so much more enjoyable. You don’t always get that kind of understanding in places like this. All in all, such a cool and welcoming spot. Definitely worth checking out if you want something different to do—we’ll absolutely be coming back.

We’ve been here a few times. We love the dirty sodas! So many game choices. The girl working today was so sweet, I forgot to ask for her name! Highly recommend a day here. Price is very affordable for all day play!
