This place is great! I came as a tourist and it was a wonderful little find. The selection is amazing, the owner was very nice and answered questions. I walked away with some books that I would never have been able to find where I live locally. Highly recommended stop or haunt if you are a local.

A positively charming gem of Montpelier. Warm, inviting, and cute. Not to mention the great staff (which if we’re being honest is usually half the reason a bookstore is any good). I had a quality on/off conversation with who I presume is the owner while I was aimlessly browsing, and wound up with a new foray into a series I was unfamiliar with, a quality board game, and a jigsaw puzzle housewarming gift for some friends. If you’re looking for spots to hit up during a Montpelier outing, or need a new place to become a regular at, Book Garden’s your spot. Dungeon Crawler Carl, Root, and a Gatsby puzzle was what I picked up btw—highly recommend them all! ALSO…great sign they have out front! Highly underrated aspect of any business, but it’s the first thing people see and it elevates the aesthetic of the whole block. LFG this place rocks!

I’ve always enjoyed coming to this shop. The owner is great at answering the questions you have and I’ll always appreciate their kindness when I first walk through the doors. Can’t wait to come back

A lot of treasures in this cute and cozy book and game store. The owner was very kind and polite. I had a wonderful time looking at a great selection of books, from fiction, nonfiction, and graphic novels. Their were books that were rare or uncommon to find. I'm glad I stopped in, and I would definitely want to go back.

Super nice people, really nice store, I buy from here regularly just to support them. I'm really appreciative that they try to keep pokemon prices as low as possible with the market exploding. If I had one recommendation it would be they lean into trading cards more and books less, as it really is a hobby shop at heart.
