The Board Room - Charleston

Really impressed with The Board Room. The shop has a clean, updated feel and a great mix of products — cards, board games, comics, sleeves, accessories, and more. You can spend a long time just walking around checking everything out. The environment felt relaxed and approachable, which isn’t always the case at game stores. Staff members were helpful without being pushy, and the whole place had a strong community vibe. Also appreciated that the pricing felt reasonable compared to a lot of places right now. Overall, just a really solid experience.

I love this store it is like a second home to me. I shop their regularly and hangout a lot to play games. There is a lot of care at times given to the community that plays there and they go out of their way to try and make the entire environment safe, clean, and enjoyable for all. All of the employees are nice and willing to talk and joke with you which is amazing. I have never had a bad time at the shop the 3 years I've been going there. The new location is also amazing and truly gives a relaxed and home like vibe. If you are looking for card events to play in there are so many and the communities for each card game is amazing. Honestly some of the best people to interact with. They work with their community and do their best to help with anything. You cannot go wrong with going there to hangout, play in events, and make memories.

Warm, quaint, cozy...there are many words that come to mind when I think of The Board Room. But the one that carries the most weight, is home. I have attended shopped at this store for going on 3 years. More than that, I have attended local events at this store weekly and enriched myself within the different TCG and DnD communities, making new friends with folks across all. As soon as you walk through the door, employees such as the amazing Kayla and Landon, and the store owner Josh, immediately greet us by name and are always ready to awnser all of our questions. We are treated as more than just customers at The Board Room. We are treated like long time friends. The store has always felt safe, and is always clean. As a first time TCG Player, I dont think I would have been able involve myself so deeply in a community or even be as passionate about a game if it isn't for the atmosphere and environment they provide every week. My entire family, including 2 children, love what has become our third space.

I would have to say this is one of the coolest places I have been to for awhile. So awesome to go in and play board games with your friends or meet new friends by playing. I went here to see if the owner would be interested in buying some old vintage Magic cards "The Gathering" I was really surprised with the offer I got. I ended up selling like 12 cards for over 65 dollars. If anyone wants to get out of the house and enjoy a great game of Dungeons & Dragons or Pokemon or whatever your favorite group player game is, this is the place to go.

What a wonderful place. Full of fun games and awesome comics. You can also pick a game and play in store for free.
