This is the most perfect place to buy pokemon from. The staff is super friendly and they don’t sell cards at 4x the msrp. I love coming back to sell my singles and buy more pokemon

This shop is the best in Houston. I have nearby shops I go to and they never have any collector boosters, completely out of stock of even a single collector booster. So I drive an hour out to strike zone and they have probably 50 unique collector boosters, and while it’s a bit expensive, I love that I have collector boosters available. Then, I realized they have a lot of great singles when I pick up boosters. While it’s not as great that I have to select the singles on my phone instead of picking them out in person, I really like the selection of singles they have and especially showcase Borderless foils, they have more bling cards than any shop I’ve been to. And one experience in particular makes me very happy — I bought a very nice Borderless foil single, and I already paid for everything. I was in store still and realized one card had some hairline scratches on the artwork, so I requested to exchange, and they had another one in stock so they gave me the same Borderless foil print and it was perfect. It was Juan who helped me with this and I really appreciate him for this. I am building a cEDH deck that is very blinged out, and I wanted it perfect and he helped get me a swapped single that was perfect, and that means a lot to me. I’m so happy that Strike Zone is available to me in Houston and I’m going to keep going there in the future.

Gotta say I love the replies to some of these reviews haha. Anyway, ordered a NM MTG card, it looked a bit scuffed but one of the employees showed me how to tell apart card defects and surface level things like finger gunk and took the time to explain it all and clean it up a bit even on a $20 card. Prices on MTG product seem fair compared to other stores, their online buylist isn't too bad either. Seems like they deal with a lot of entitled people that they don't have the patience for which is why the reviews are the way they are, but they showed me patience with my purchase so something makes me think there's more to the story and the angry reviewers aren't being truthful ;)

I stopped by to check this place out, and if you need something fast, it’ll get the job done. They had everything I was looking for in stock, which was great. But once I saw the prices, it made sense why it was all still sitting on the shelves. Honestly, I’ve seen cheaper prices from scalpers on Marketplace. I wanted to support a local business, but the prices were high enough that even my wallet said no.

I came here for a pokemon cup that was part of this Houston Pokémon cup marathon they had going on in the city. Ive been to the other stores hosting a cup and they had a ton of people showing up for these cups. I have no idea why the owner decided to cap the seating/registration when they had enough judges/TOs and tables folded up in the back. People allegedly lined up before the store opened for this event and allegedly the event sold out before sign up was opened and allegedly there was pre registration for just regulars. The TO/judges were very nice and explained the situation to me and said the seating/cap was a store owner decision which is crazy to me because they had extra seating at the last cup they hosted. Instead of 3 rows of tables they did some shrinkflation magic and only had 1 long one. The judges/TO were amazing and gave a prize pack to the people who showed up and didnt get in. Honestly its a shame how this store left a sour taste for people who showed up wanting to play some pokemon.
