Spud's Emporium of Comics and Games

This is one of those shops where antisocial and unbathed adults come to play kids games and the employees are simply there to hang with their nerd clan. I looked through this store from front to back and passed 3-4 people who looked like employees including 2 behind the counter, no greetings, no can I help you? Not sure anyone noticed that I was there although it was very clear that no one cared. If you like places that slap $15 price tags on $2-5 comics, then this is the place for you.

Dirty, disorganized. Back issue comics were covered by boxes, shelves, etc. When asked employee was unwilling to move boxes/shelves for customers unless they knew exactly which box they needed. That customer left saying it's always like this. Another customer asked for Archie comic books. Same employee did not know where they were or if they even had them. My husband had seen them and directed the customer, creating a $20 sale the employee would have let go. Overall really disappointing

Store owner is very nice and helpful and the environment was inviting and cozy. Most times I came in I would see friends playing card games together in the back

Was very impressed with inventory selection and availability. Was not at all impressed by store conditions or organization, and even less so by the mood. The staff isn't particularly hospitable and there's a cult-like respect and chatter that goes toward and about Spud himself to the point where it seems like it is alienating to anyone that isn't part of the stores inner circle, giving it a vert exclusive and unwelcoming employee/customer base. Prices were at least reasonable for purchasing, but trade ins get you absolutely shafted, do not take your cards here.

Not only is the store really cool, Spuds is super great! He is very friendly, knowledgeable and FAST with trading and buying. Gave a very fair and good deal for me and would highly recommend to anyone!
