Showcase Comics and Games

Definitely a large selection of comics and seems to have a large variety of tabletop games. It's hard to run a small business, so I don't want to go too hard on this place. Also, it's hard to find a good comic shop in the Philadelphia area. That said, I think they could do better in 2 areas: 1) The back issues of their comic books are mostly overpriced- there were no good deals and many issues were priced $20-$70 more than you'd pay on ebay shopping from the comfort of your home. 2) You won't find many newer comics in pristine condition due to how they're displayed. Again, a lot of online retailers will sell you new comics guaranteed to arrive in NM or better condition AND they bag and board them for free.

This is a great store if you love comic books, anime, and magic the gathering! My kiddo is into anime and we found a large selection of books for her to broaden her selection with. While I love to read this isn’t my genre. That said, I can appreciate a great book store and this is one of them. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about what’s in stock. The last time we visited it was packed. I think there may have been a book signing. Definitely come in and check it out, chat with the owners, and see all they have to offer.

Snobby and dismissive employees, sells sun-damaged product at full price (entire kids/YA section is damaged this way), new modern issues stored so improperly it's impossible to find a non-damaged copy (and my standards aren't very high so you know it's bad here), scalping pokemon (selling item for $45 when msrp is $15.99 on month of release, I mean that's scummy), and no clue how to handle customer service interactions when they're clearly in the wrong. I've given them a few chances in case it was just an off day for them, but clearly that's just their norm. Stay very far away from this place and find a better shop.

I love having a local comic book store to go to. This is a good one. Spacious, well stocked, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Whether you are looking for new or old, they have it, along with a great selection of card and board games.

When I went into this shop I was expecting comics and games. But what I got instead was comics, and more comics also featuring games. This is very much more a comic shop than it is a game shop. If you have to look at the distribution, I'd say it's a good 50% comics 20% graphics novels and books about comics including collections. And the remaining 30% is split up between table top board games and such with the last 5% being RPG stuff in the back and I mean the far back. There is however an excellent kid section up front and some game tables in the back. I did not see a table schedule posted anywhere except on their website. Parking is three spaces in the back or nearby on the street or in metered lots. In the roughly 10 minutes I spent wandering around I was not approached by anyone which is a good or bad thing depending on your preference. And no mention was made of spending club organizations or any other such attempt to sign me up for anything.
