The whole experience was amazing. From the second I walked in I was greeted and was given the history on their store. I was able to meet with the owner and her amazing staff. I found was I was looking for and their prices are beyond fair. Honestly a hidden gem and I will most definitely be returning.

The staff was very helpful and friendly! They have an amazing selection of EVERYTHING! This was the only place I could find Dragon Ball Z cards and I will definitely be back!

I frequent Screaming Monkey for years since they reopened late 2019 at their old location across the street from their new one. The owners (John and Chris) are super down to earth and probably the easiest people to talk to. Comics, fukos, and a plethora of trading card games on a busy Ridge Road culminate in a nerd’s utopia for hours. The staff there also are super friendly and patience with a number of patrons who are there for whatever they’re looking for. If you are a non trading card player, I’d recommend going during the weekday or afternoons as you will experience more trading card players like myself who will be looking through the card cases and just arrived bins. The staff does work quickly to get people checked out though so that is a plus. If you ever are intrested in a demo of any games or using the space for a party, they’d be more than welcome to accomodate if you reach out with proper notice. I personally am a Magic: The Gathering player here, but there are times my friend group have thought of playing Lorcana, Pokemon, or Yu-Gi-Oh but have nowhere to start. Now to address the loser and his boyfriend’s one star review. I can confirm that prices on card singles fluctuate up and down. Sometimes I personally have had it to where I came up and paid a dollar for a card they had tagged at $5, sometimes I had to play 3 extra bucks because a card they had tagged st $7 went up to $10. THAT IS THE NATURE OF THE MARKET! If you don’t like how they do business then go elsewhere. In reality, you’ll likely end up netting in value either way. Pros: Great spot in Northwest Indiana for cards, comics, and other nerdy gadgets without the creepy Tenth Planet vibes (sorry, not sorry). Support for many trading card games and a desire to host/teach more of the obscure games. Kick ass owners and staff who make you feel like family. Cons (because i’m not bias)- The singles pricing is confusing at sometimes, BUT they have made changes to price items at market now instead of putting any kind of tags to avoid issues. They are also giving 10% off for singles purchases for more than $10. Out of their control because of their location, but parking sometimes is a bit of an issue on the weekends at night when attending for an event. Patrons of the smoke shop and the local resturant that took their reopen location seem to take up spaces sometimes. There is some spots around the corner by bdubs that you can park in no problem.

Best. Comic. Shop. Ever. John and Chris run an AMAZING comic, games, collectibles, and toy shop. I’m lucky it’s only a few blocks from my house. The staff are lovely as well. It’s great to see so many women working in this business! Everyone here is always friendly, courteous, and complimentary (my wife’s purple hair is always a big hit when she visits with me). Thanks for keeping the store clean, organized, and competitively priced. The gaming room in the back is an added bonus—along with the arcade. If you’re a nerd, this is the place for you. If you’re a jerk, kick rocks. Thanks team!

This shop is off-the-charts awesome! The $1 bin comics are a steal, and the toy selection is epic! Not to mention the video games - it's like a mini arcade in here! The staff is super friendly, and they have a restroom, which is a major plus if you're toting kiddos around. Definitely worth spending the whole day here!
