Great vintage game store with an excellent small arcade within it. A few notable cabinets here like Marvel Vs Capcom 2, the rare JoJo's Venture cabinet, as well as the exceptionally rare 6 player X-Men cabinet with the periscopic dual CRT widescreen. Also next door is a standalone arcade with some even older titles as well as pinball. Between both the available machines change a bit over time for maintenance. You can get a glimpse of the machines in need of repair behind the bars past the arcade

What a cool store! It has a retro arcade inside the store full of classics like X-Men and Dragon's Lair. Comics, video games, graphic novels, toys etc. Can't wait for next visit!

I've been shopping here since the days when it was a small store in Shallotte, NC. Over the years, it's consistently been a 5-star experience. However, I've noticed an increasing number of games on the shelves with reprinted cover artwork being priced as though they include the original artwork—sometimes at complete-in-box (CIB) prices. For collectors, that's a significant difference. I've found it isn't really worth trying to discuss the pricing with the staff, as those conversations haven't been particularly welcoming or productive. This may not matter to the average customer, but it's a significant issue for collectors. My biggest concern is that there isn't any labeling to indicate when the artwork is a reproduction. I've noticed this most often with DS, PS1, PS2, and PS3 titles, especially some of the more expensive games. A simple label or sticker stating that the cover art is reproduction would go a long way toward being transparent with customers while still allowing those games to be sold. Or having them separate from all other games to not waste customers time who don’t buy loose games. I browsed the store this past weekend and picked up around 10 games that I was interested in buying. Unfortunately, only 2 of them had original artwork, so I ended up putting 8 of them back. As an example, here's a Nintendo DS game with reproduction artwork that was pulled from the shelf of complete games. It was priced as "item + box" according to PriceCharting. My daughter wanted this game, but we decided not to purchase it because of the reproduction cover (with no indication it was).

This place is a nerd's paradise! Comics, video games, manga, card games, tabletop games and accessories, and arcade machines all for a quarter each! I go here all the time and have a blast. Not only is there a massive selection of product for passionate fans of all sorts, the selection of arcade machines can appeal to anyone! Staff are friendly and helpful. I have particularly had good experiences with Josh, who is very down to earth and understanding. Super helpful guy! I recommend this place to anyone with even a passing interest in comics, video games, anime and manga, toys and collectables, trading card games, dnd and other tabletop games, or just having a fun time on some arcade machines.

I’ve shopped here multiple times and wanted to share an honest experience for others. The store has a great selection and is well known in the area, but I’ve noticed that some items don’t always match the premium pricing in terms of condition. Most recently, I purchased a copy of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES). When I got home, it didn’t work. After opening it, I found residue inside the cartridge affecting the contacts. I was able to clean and repair it myself. I live about 40 minutes away and have experience with console and cartridge repairs, along with the proper tools, so in situations like this I usually fix the issue rather than drive back. That said, at these price points I do expect items to be properly cleaned and tested before being sold. This hasn’t been a one-time issue for me—I’ve had to clean or repair multiple items purchased here. The store truly has one of the best retro selections in the area, which is why I continue to check it out. If you’re comfortable doing your own maintenance, you may be fine. But if you’re expecting plug-and-play condition at premium prices, it’s something to be aware of.
