I have been playing magic in many many many different game stores, but Play Test Lounge is the best I have been to so far! They have free pizza most of the weekend night for every player. They have low entry fee if you register events in advance. And their price for the event is the best I have received in my life!!!!

I am really pleased with the 3 interactions I've had with this business. The first was at their booth at Collector Palooza, and the person was very helpful and fair. The other two times were in their shop to trade/buy some cards. Yes, I was pleased with the trade percentage they offered for me cards, but they also welcomed me to come back on Wednesday nights to play the tcg with them. When i told them I just collect vintage and it had been literal decades since I played, he told me they would teach me how to play and even lend me a deck to use! There are multiple card shops near me that I drive past to get to this one... These folks seem genuinely invested in the community aspect of their shop and I really appreciated the welcoming vibe for what can be an intimidating experience to walk into.

My son and I enjoy visiting other stores while vacationing and will buy items for our store. When we went to purchase our items we let the employee know that we were a tax exempt purchase and we had the ST-105 form for them. He did not understand or know what that was. We asked for him to talk to the owner or manager who should know since you are charging Indiana state tax and pay those fees. After messaging the owner. The employee told me they the owner is refusing to honor the paperwork and said there was nothing he could do. After making the purchase I left a bad review for the business not honoring my ST-105 paperwork which cost me money I should not have to pay. The owner then call and bearded my business for leaving the review. He demanded my personal information and then left a bad review for our store after never visiting it. The owner is a bully and unhinged. He does not belong in the table top hobby community. This all could have been avoided if you would have just honored my forms and not overcharge me.

Play Test Lounge isn’t just a card shop; it is a community that I proudly call home. This will be the best-run hobby space that you have ever stepped into. From the moment you walk in, you can tell how much pride the owners and staff take in what they’ve built. The space is immaculate. It is consistently clean, well-lit, thoughtfully laid out, and genuinely comfortable to spend hours in. It has a premium, high-class feel that you just don’t see in most LGS environments. Everything from the tables to the displays to the overall vibe feels intentional and well cared for. Prices are competitive, and the stock is always phenomenal. What really sets PTL apart is the people. The staff are incredibly passionate; not just about the games, but about the players. They go out of their way to look out for regulars, help newer players feel welcome, and foster a positive, respectful environment. My pronouns/gender indentity has always respected and uplifted by staff and guests alike. The store has never felt transactional and it feels like they actually care about your experience. Their inventory is always evolving too. New stock is constantly coming in, and if there’s something you’re interested in, they’re genuinely proactive about trying to bring it in. They’re always keeping an eye out for what’s next, not just what’s popular now. The weekly events are where things really shine: Mondays (hell, all days really) see a great turn out for Magic: The Gathering, and at this store it is truly something special. The tables are welcoming, respectful, and balanced regardless of play level; you’ll find games that are just as enjoyable for beginners as they are challenging for experienced players. Wednesdays bring the "Midweek Masters" Pokémon Tournaments. Perfectly casual, well-structured, and rewarding. Pack-per-win prizing means you always feel like you’re getting value, and entry includes a guaranteed pack. It’s a great midweek reset. Thursdays are for those who want to level-up Board Game Night. A fantastic mix of classics and new experiences. It’s especially cool seeing new developers bring in their games and share them with the community. Friday Trade Nights are the heartbeat of PTL, and something I look forward to every week - I refuse to miss a single one. A $10 entry gives you pizza, snacks, drinks and access to one of the most active trading scenes around. It’s not uncommon to see 50+ people trading Pokémon, Magic, One Piece, and more. Add in consoles, games on big crisp TVs, and just an electric atmosphere… it’s hard to beat. There is always something going on during the weekends. My personal favorite is the Pokémon TCG tournaments held on Saturdays at 11 am. It is impressive to see such a consistently active community, and not uncommon to see 20 trainers looking to help anyone who is interested in learning the game. Add in the other variety of community-driven events that keep things fresh and engaging, and you will always have something marked for the weekend on your calendar. At the end of the day, Play Test Lounge has managed to do what a lot of stores aim for but rarely achieve: create a space that is welcoming, polished, community-driven, and consistently fun. It genuinely feels like the world’s best card store.

The area itself is very appealing to the eyes. But the staff was very accommodating to us, even while a planned event was going on. It's $10 to reserve a table, and snacks and drinks are free with that purchase. I love things that they also sell. They have an artist who makes Pokemon art with live plants. And kids can give art that the store sells. If bought, the chosen kid receives a gift card to the store. Love their way of engaging with customers.
