I've been coming to Otto's for all my wargaming needs since early 2018 and hope to keep coming for years into the future. They always have either what I need, a suitable replacement, or at the very least, can order it for me. The owner is a real professional, especially regarding painting, always knowing exactly what I need for my newest project. One of his employees even gave me a number to text to ask if they have stuff when the store is closed and I can't call.

The owner is awesome and knows what I am looking for. His employees on the other hand have first impression syndrome so expect a roll of the eyes if your a regular customer. If you want to support your local business I recommend this place.

We regularly participate in pre-release tournaments when they become available. However, on multiple occasions we have encountered issues with tournament start times beginning earlier than what is listed in the Bandai app. Specifically, events listed as starting at 11:00 a.m. have instead begun at 10:00 a.m., which has resulted in us missing the first round and being recorded as a loss. Most recently, this occurred yesterday with the OP-14 pre-release tournament. We successfully applied through the Bandai app several weeks in advance, and there was no indication on the event listing that participation would be on a first-come, first-served basis. Upon arriving at 11:00 a.m. (the posted start time), we were informed that our confirmed application would not be honored, as all spots had already been filled due to walk-ins. The store manager, Chad Thornton, stated that there was no remaining product available to accommodate our entry. We attempted to explain that our application had been successfully confirmed through the Bandai app, but this was dismissed, and we were turned away despite following the listed process. This experience was disappointing and unprofessional. Fortunately, we were able to contact another card shop that honored our confirmed entry, allowing us to participate in the OP-14 pre-release event elsewhere. Due to this repeated lack of alignment between posted event details and actual practice, we will no longer be returning to Otto’s for future events.

So I just recently got into Warhammer 40K and I was in Bakersfield for work and just thought I would check google to see what was around me and I came across Otto’s OMG I was blown away by the amount of products they had. Not to much the help I received a gentleman by the name Chad asked if I needed any help and I told him that I just started and didn’t really know where to start he gave me so many tips and tricks and advice I could of stayed and talked all day but unfortunately had to get to work. I will definitely be back and if you need anything I would recommend stopping in

Solid store. The normal prices are a tad high, but they have a free gaming space in the back. I will always support stores that try to support the local gaming community. The staff is helpful, too. About their prices, I appreciate that when it comes to a highly sought after product, they don’t jack up the prices to scalper levels like some of the local stores do. They do increase the prices, but it remains reasonable.
